Hi its been four months since I had a relaxer, its the summer time and I'm starting to get weary. I'm starting to get that itch to put another relaxer in my head. It gets hard some time with the heat, and me working out three times a week. What's some of the benefits of being natural, and what advice can you give? By the way, I'm 4b. Thanks

Benefits for me

1. No more long salon visits.
2. No more curling irons or blow dryers.
3. My hair can be styled in about 5 minutes. (The ole trusty puff)
4. More money in my pocket.
5. I get to do my hair on MY schedule and no one elses.

My advice would be to BC when you are ready and not to rush things. What may work for your hair now may not work for your natural hair so be prepared to find new products.

I'm sure vets will chime with more benefits and advice.

The #1 best thing about being natural is that rain, humidity, and steam are now my hair's best friends. They impart moisture and are actually my favorite styling aids.

I have to admit that shrinkage can work for and against you depending on what style you're trying to achieve. Just go with it. I realized a long time ago that I am no longer in charge of what goes on on top of my head. My hair tells me what it wants to do, and I oblige. We're both quite satisfied with this arrangement.

girl even when you're 1005 natural, this hot summer weather can be a pain. :perplexed

why not get braids? with your active lifestyle it sounds like that would be a good way to go this time of year. :yep:

ITA! it rained today and i sloooowly walked into the house. LOL!

i will say i have spent less money at salons just cause i am a fan of the WNG and frequent cowash and i dont see the point of getting a blowout if i am going to wash it out 3 days later. but other than that...i like to play with my curls. i have a natural straw set

I can't even make a puff yet BUT WnGs have become my best friend.

I workout 5 days a week and almost every day I Co-N-Go (cowashing with condish as a leave in) and it works great for mean. Even if I pick my tiny afro out, I do it while it's wet and it dries that way. (I have fine hair.)
I laugh at rain :lachen: and the people that are running from it.

Honestly for me being natural is fast, as all I really *need* is water to acheive a look.

I spent more money b/c I've been trying this and trying that but I didn't need all those blankety blank products that I'd purchased.

Keep in mind that when you BC you might get bored with the same style especially with working out and frequent washing.

Dang I was about to add something else but I got distracted..
