Again, thank you ladies very, very much. I have been lurking on LHCF for almost a year just soaking up all of this wonderful information.

So in March of this year, I decided that I will try to grow my hair to waist length and the journey began.

I have already told a few of you my story:

I have been natural since 2004. Prior to that, I relaxed my own hair about two times a year. My hair was mid-back length then. When my daughter lost all of her hair during her chemotherapy and radiation treatments, I cut all of my hair to about three inches. It did not bother me at all because I love my natural hair.

At one point, I was trimming my hair every couple of months because I wanted to keep my natural hair around shoulder length which was easy to manage; just wash and go without any problem.

I really do not do much for my hair other than TLC and keeping my regimen as simple as I can.

My Regimen: (Inspired by Candy C, MedMunky, & RedTweety); although they do not even know it

Preshampoo Oil Treatment: amla & shikakai oil the night before wash day

Shampoo: Shikakai bar every 4 weeks and as needed. Ayurvedic hair powders (amla, shikakai, brahmi) 2x per week per Candy C's instructions

Cowash: 2x per week, w/Tresemme Pro-Vitamin B & Aloe, Vitamin E

Deep Condition: After every wash with Queen Helen Cholesterol + EVOO or Aussie 3 Minute Miracle

Daily Moisturize: Giovanni Direct Leave-In Moisturizer, Qhemet Biologics amla & olive heavy cream, Hair2Heaven endall to seal

Nightly Scalp Massages: Gro-Aut oil and Mahabhringaraj oil

Sleep with satin cap. The only time I use direct heat is when I flat iron my hair.

That's about it, I forgot to add that I take a multi-vitamin (Wal-Mart Brand) daily.

I think the the growth spurt is from the warm humid weather here in the South. Also, my hair is moist all the time and I wear it up almost 99% of the time.

Amazing growth!
It's nice that you put your regimen here as well so that people can see all the work that you put into your hair :yep:

You ladies are so wonderful. Thank you so much for your words of encouragement and advice.

Although I do not post often you all have been so kind. That is the main reason I LOVE LHCF. We are one big happy family; a true sisterhood.

Beautiful, I am so jealous. I have been trying to make it to MBL for 2 years and I have to keep cutting!!! Your hair is lovely, thanks for sharing your regimen. Now when you say you where your hair up, what styles do you wear? It also looks like you're using heat every couple of weeks what protectant are you using? My hair seems to split easily from flat ironing.

When I wear my hair up, it is usually in a bun, twists in a bun, or a single braid in the back. I just received some Hairzings today, and so far I love them. They are going to be just perfect for my "protective styles."

Usually I do not flat iron my hair. I had not flat ironed my hair in about two years. In March, I decided to try to grow my hair to WL. That is when I started to flat iron to measure length.

I was flat ironing my hair every couple of weeks since March, but I have not flat ironed my hair since May and I will not flat iron again until October, for my birthday. Then again in December, when hopefully I will have reached my goal of WL with thick ends. After that, I will probably flat iron once a year to measure length and trim if needed.

I use Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Heat Protector STRAIGHTENING SERUM to flat iron. I am waiting for my samples of Sabino Moisture Block since I have read such rave reviews about it.
