I have had my piercing for over 15 years.

Had a bit of trouble at the begining (my skin HATES surgical steel, had to switch to a silver stud/nose screw) and, it took a few years to heal properly but, it looks good. I still have it and, have no regrets.

As another poster stated, everybodies skin is different. Hopefully your experience will be plainsailing

That's true, we can barely see it. When u mentioned african tribal look, I was already visualizing u with a big wood ring in the middle of your nose:lachen: I am glad you went for that little stud. It's classy and sassy. But girl, I will never ever get one those things. I am just too chicken... just thinking about the needles :spinning:

I thought about getting a little nose ring when I was in India (it looked so good on Indian women!) but I chickened out. :ohwell:

I don't think i can get one now because I don't think that they'll like it with the "professional" look I'm supposed to have now. :sad:

I still kind of want to get a "hidden" tattoo, though... :look: :lol:
 
OP it would sooo suit u! as soon as i saw ur thread n saw ur pic i was like yep definately get 1 lol. but then again i might a bit biased since i have one. i only wear the studs though never worn a ring. i think u can see it in my avatar. and when i take it out u cant even tell i have a hole in my nose unless you look really close.

Go for it! I'd think you'd like and it would suit you. After eight years with mine, I haven't regretted it and I've worn it to my interviews and to work too. I do my own thing...Good luck with it and post pics!
 
I have one.
I love it and I get what your saying about the whole look with natural hair.
During the week I wear a tiny one like the above poster for work. I change it up more on the weekends.
I think it would look cute on you!
 
I've had my nose pierced twice. I didn't have any scaring after the first time when it closed.

I wear a small flat "sparkle" —and have everyday for about 5 years. I work in a professional business environment and no one has ever said anything (bad) about it. It's all in how you present yourself.

In regards to hair, I've had mine both relaxed and natural and it suits me the same.

Go for it! It'll be cute.
 
I never got my nose pierced but sometimes I'll take a rhimestone and put that on my nostril. That way it's not permanent and most people assume it's real. It looks cool on me too.

lol, they usually have them in the black beauty supply stores and they're patterned. They're supposed to be rhimestone tattoos or you could even get the ones that's supposed to stick to your phone. I get my pack for a buck and they're naturally sticky......I take one and I press it down on my nostril. Have people asking me since when did I have a nose ring.:lachen:

I included a pic delitefulmane of a package you may see in the store, usually for a dollar. I just pick up a clear one and Im good to go.

You know what? This brought back memories for me, when I first wanted to get one of these.

I used to wear one of those magnetic studs to see how I'd look with wearing an actual real one. LOL this method was all the rage back in the day. I wore that thing to death until I lost the magnetic piece out of my nose LOL and finally went and got the real deal done.

I have had mine's for over 10 years now, but I haven't worn it as much as I used to for the last 5-6 years. I've worn all different kinds, but the studs are my fave ones. No scarring here also. Putting a lil hoop in my nose as a "ring" and I found myself saying that I ain't no dang "Red Bull"!:lachen::lachen::lachen:

But anyhoo, I think you'll look cute with one!:grin:
 
How funny, I just repierced my nose today and then untwisted the back of my hair to rock my afro!!!!!

I've had my nose pierced for over ten years. The hole will close if you don't wear it like I did. No scars left. Just a closed hole.

I just stuck a new nose ring in and Voila!!!!

Rockin my afro and my nose ring!!!!!!:grin::grin:

This is what I do!

I wasn't allowed to pierce my nose in H.S., so I started buying those little rhinestone things from Wal-Mart. I buy the small, silver ones, with the sticky on the back, and it stays until I take it off. I'm grown now, but I still rock it. :grin:
 
i used to have one when i was 17 but took it out when i was 18-19. i've just stopped wearing one but i do have a bump from mine from when it would always sink in. i used to sport the small studs

I agree with you both. I like the look, not because it's ethnic really but just because it gives a slight spice. I think I may get one this weekend. Wish me luck! Oh and I think you'd look REAL cute with one.

That doesn't happen to everyone. I had a noise ring and I took it out a few months after I got and I never had a scar. My aunt has had her nose rings for years, when she goes without them, there are no visible scars too.
 
i wanted one but dont know what side to get it on, plus i always heard it was for lesbians:perplexed no thanks. plus i dont want a nasal scar
 
My sister had her nose pierced since she was 12, and she's 26 now and she doesn't wear it anymore and she doesn't have a scar. So I guess it depends on the person and if they scar easily.
 
ive giving up on nose rings..(well maybe not quite) cause everytime i get one. i end up "ripping" it out on a towel or with my hand while washing/drying my face.

no scar thankfully..
