I used to take it every morning , my face was very glowy and clean and there was no need for a moisturiser . AS far as my hair went , I did not see a difference. I stopped because I ran out, but I plan to start again very soon
Yeah its a great internal moisturizer! I'm starting because i read up on all the benefits, cant figure out why I get a headache so far though? but it is lessening a little! how much did you take a day?
Do you take it straight or mix it w/ your food?
I haven't tried it yet, but what I've read some people do is mix it with their food, like oatmeal or anyother hot cereal. I was researching on this too, and it really is interesting, right now I use it on my face and hair. Like this morning for the first time I mixed a small dab w/ my baking soda that I clean my face with and I cannot keep my hands away from my face b/c its so soft. I'm loving the feel of that. As for my hair it is great, it immediately softens to touch and comb w/ ease....(informercial plug..lol). But I hope the headaches go away cause I have read its good to help remove toxins from the liver and boost metabolism for weight loss.
I'm slathering this all on my hair like Crazy and my skin, now I am eating it too!
someone else must be Coconut oil Crazed too????
I'm coconut crazed too, but I couldn't tie it directly to any benefits because I use it in everything: my hair, cooking, and internally. I bought it from the Vitamin Shoppe and I take a teaspoon every now and then. I've replaced all other cooking oils, butters, and spreads because it's the lightest and it's yummy.
this is interesting... because i've heard that oils that are good for our hair are bad for our heart (cholesterol). not saying a spoonful is gonna lead to a heart attackbut i just never considered eating coconut oil before cuz i though it was "bad" for you.

which is the best to use, virgin or unrefined? or are those the same thing?
Someone was telling me about coconut oil recently and i was thinking of adding it into my diet because i have dry skin, lupus (an autoimmune disorder), and other stuff it's supposed to help you with. I was also thinking of using it for my hair.
bump................................. get your coconut on......

I wonder this too. But my opinion is that extra virgin is the best and what they scoop from the top. I think unrefined means no heat while processing or something and it's from the bottom of the vat....anyone know?BUMP
ME ME ME!!!!! I slather it on and I take the capsules.
ETA~ It's a monounsaturated fat which is one of the good fats. I also take fish oil, flaxseed oil and I used to take borage oil but flaxseed pretty much covers that as well.
