Since it coats the hair shaft, is there a possibility that the conditioner won't penetrate the hair like it needs to? :look:

thats what ive been thinking.

hm.. from what I know a rinse is used *afer* the deep conditioning process, so you'd shampoo, DC then use a rinse to detangle. If that's the case than the DC has the opportunity to penetrate each hair strand because the rinse is being used after.

HTH

Hmm...how about the next time when you have to wash and DC again? The rinse that's left on the hair shaft can still block it, right? :scratchch

i dont believe that it does. i am the queen of rinses and i have always been able to have successful deep conditions. if anything they cause the rinse to come out faster. maybe because they are penetrating and washing the color out?:ohwell: either way my hair is only a lil tough after the first rinse (from the protein) and then after that its fine.

i was just about to say pretty much the same thing:yep:
the co's and water molecules are big...if anything it's trying to keep a rinse on the hair shaft:grin: but not everyone find this a problen if the 2 are balanced

I've seen regimens where they did the oil rinse before DC. that's what I was referring to.

i've NEVER had a problem with DCing while a rinse is on my hair...ever

oo i see hmmm, then i guess it depends on what the op was referring to. in the case of an oil rinse...i dunno lol

I'm glad u asked this questions cos I just ordered a rinse (still in the mail) and I've also been wondering.

I guess what leeshbeesh is saying makes alot of sense - that's if u are using the rinse after DCing cos your hair would have already absorbed the moisture by then.

That makes me wonder though... does the rinse help seal in moisture then if it coats the hair after it has absorbed the moisture from the DC. ?????

Interesting thought.I haven't run into any problems by mixing the two, yet. It probally helps that the rinse I use is very light.

some of you seem to be talking about color rinses and others seem to be talking about oil rinses. so i dont know.
