I would like to know which is better in your opinion. I saw on a site where they said ''honeyquat better than glycerin'' and because I know a lot of you guys has used both I trust your opinions more. So go ahead and vote or just let me know your honest opinion. TIA

I voted for Glycerine 'cause I don't kow what "Honeyquat" is. Though it has a very interesting name....

lol at the above y'all are too cute up in here. Honeyquat is a type of humectant derived from honey. It's supposed to be even more moisturizing than glycerin (2x I think???). I've seen other's mention it before and I have to admit the descriptions looks pretty yummy. It can be purchased at lotioncrafters

Don't forget the discount if you order it!

Personally I have no vote since I've only tried glycerin. I'm eager to hear what people have to say though. I've been eyeing that honeyquat for a hot minute too...:yep:

I have not tried the honeyquat yet. I've heard good things about it though. I'm thinking about getting some from lotioncrafter.

:giggle: LOL I couldn't help it. I never heard of this, be honest at first it sounded like some kind of sausage with a funny name, you know like bratwurst? LOL But it sure sounds interesting, now that you've broken it all down. Thanks for that and the link!

Definately Honeyquat:yep:

It is 10x better than Glycerin, which is saying a lot.

10x better? Hmmmm I may need to check this out....."off to add to wish list" Thanks!

I like honeyquat best when I'm add it to my DC. A little goes a looong way, trust me plus its not thick and sticky like glycerin. I add a tsp to a large handful of conditioner when I need extra moisture.

Its also good when you add it to lotions and bodywashes.

I bought a bottle last August from Lotioncrafter's...I've only used about 1/3 of it!

I do add a little honeyquat to my CAG, and it does help. I'm not sure if my hair loves it yet though. So I can't answer at this point. My hair doesn't love glycerin either.

Definitely honeyquat - it's 'lighter' than glycerin to me, but it's MUCH more moisturizing - my hair doesn't get that 'sticky' feeling that glycerin sometimes leaves me with.

I agree with all that said glycerin left their sticky, it did the same thing to my hair. So now I am looking for a good humectant like honeyquat. LadyK did it leave your hair sticky, how did your hair feel after using it? I think we have the same hair type. Thanks everyone for replying.

:nono: it didn't make my hair sticky at all. I even added a little of it to a moisturizer that I hated, and it worked wonders.

Em. OK Sexyred, you kinda needed a poll option that said something like 'HONEYQUAT... :scratchch ... WHAT THE H$LL IS HONEYQUAT' :look:.
I like glycerine but I can't say if it's better than HONEYQUAT :perplexed or not.

If it's more moisturising and less stickly than glycerine, I'm switching to... HONEYQUAT:ohwell:! :yep:

I'm going to purchase some honeyquat soon, too. I would probably say honeyquat because gylcerine isn't all that moisturizing unless you mix it well. Honey on the other hand is another story. I love honey!

I had never heard of honeyquat until this thread! You learn something new every day. I want to try it out. I don't have problems with glycerin though. but if this is more moisturizing, I'm all for it. I already add honey to every things possible. LOL.

Are you using it full strength or are you diluting it in a mixture of other stuff?

I have a homemaid spray concotion that I make for my hair on the days I don't co-wash and I add it to that. It's good - I'm not sure if its a winner yet. I'm going to add it to my conditioners to see how much I like it.

I tried two capfuls of Honeyquat to some Phytokarite Shea Butter mask and the Phytospecific Milky Reconstructor and I whipped this up well. I did not seem to add moisture to the mix like I thought it would. Glycerine might be a better bet for me for deep conditioning.

thanks for the info ladies!
better than glycerine???!!!!
i'm sold!
i'm abt to place an order for liquid silk amino acid @ lotioncrafter
so i might as well pick up the honeyquat too :look:

i've always been on the fence w glycerin
especially in the winter as it seems to have a drying effect
as the air sucks moisture out the hair

have u guys noticed this "winter effect" with honeyquat?
