I thought I liked it... I gave it a good try, but alas- it sucks.:nono:

I washed my hair no more than 3 days ago, everything went well. I put the QPMB on my scalp so it would soften my NG. It worked well- at first. I then, after applying QPMB, flatironed my hair- maybe that's where I went wrong. Yesterday, I noticed that my hair stunk... it smelled to me like dirty mop water or something!! I couldn't believe it. I HATE FOR MY HAIR TO STINK! I jumped in the shower to wash it out. As I was washing, I noticed that my roots were kinda hard under the water- they were not like that when my hair was dry. I scrubbed my scalp really good for 3 washes to make sure that crap was out of my hair. I made small sections in my hair and coated the sections with Sweet Cashew's conditioner- I left it on overnight. I got up this morning and washed the conditioner out and all is fine again... *whew* Into the trash that stuff goes...

DO NOT USE HEAT WITH THIS PRODUCT.

Same thing happened to me and I got the same results with the Profectiv Cremes. You would have to straighten the hair FIRST and the apply the butter. Too many cones, and there's another ingredient in there that makes the hair stick together.

ya can mail me what ya dont use ;)

I never used it all over my hair or with heat... I use it on my edges or on my fingers while brading/twisting.... LOVE IT

This is how I use it! I think it's great :look:.
PassionFruit, I corrected your typo...(brading 2 braiding)!

I figured that the heat is where I went probably wrong. I did my daughter's hair using QPMB too, but I flatironed her hair BEFORE I applied it, her hair doesn't stink and it's soft and bouncy as always.

I've only ever used it on my ends when baggying.
Am I using QPMB wrong? Is it just for ends?? I saw on the jar that it did say something about it being for ends to stop breakage or something...

i love this stuff. smells a little like blueberries. it's PERFECT to use on damp hair before putting in flexi-rods.

but then again i love cones  they make me happy

just read my almost empty jar... says:

To Use: Apply daily to target dry ends and prevent breakage
Darn.... so I was using it wrong. I guess I'm won't be putting it on our scalps anymore. I just thought, since it's creamy, that we could apply it to the scalp and get good results. I know better now:yep: Thanks Ladies!

I agree, I love the smell of it in the jar... and with previous uses, but this time:nono: The smell was yucky! I think I'll keep it for when I go braid styles or wash and go styles.

Yeah...but it also says :
Moisturizing Butters of Mango
and Cocoa produce this intensely
rich thermal protecting treatment.

But from the sound of the OP, its not a good heat protectant :look:.

I love it!! Just finished putting it on my edges! Sorry bout your experience OP, but don't give up on EQPMB just yet.

What are the ingredients? I want to know just how much mango butter is in this. :look: Thanks.

(((flips over jar- then remembers the search function)))

thanks Passions!!!

I don't care for it either. It is just missing something. Everything seems just right, but then not so much.

Thumbs down for me.

Never used it with heat though. I just tried it on my ends as a moisturizer.

yeah that could be confusing... I just never thought to use it otherwise... I think the consistency made me think of it as a hair grease/gel thing rather than a heat protector

Yes!! The jar did say that, that's why I thought it was okay to flatiron after applying it. It's not a good protectant. Not only that, but when you apply it, your roots are essentially wet again from the moisture of it- especially if you have NG, when I went to flatiron, my roots were sizzling:ohwell: I did one small section and had to wait until the morning (when my roots/the product were dry) after I applied to finish flatironing because I didn't want my roots to be sizzling like that.

It works well when I want to wear a slick pony tail. I use a little water, a little mango butter, then tie my hair down. It does a good job of laying the hair flat.

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN...WHEN I WENT TO JAMAICA IN DECEMBER I RAN OUT OF MY BELOVED NOURISH AND SHINE SO I HAD QPMB IN MY CLOSET AND DECIDED TO TAKE THAT ON MY TRIP....BOY I WAS VERY WRONG AND DISAPPOINTED...WITH VERY DRY HAIR.... NEVER AGAIN FOR ME...

I think EQP Mango Butter is better for textlaxed or natural girls. It's great for defining and moisturizing curls for wash-n-gos or buns/ponytails. IMO, it's way too heavy for relaxed heads or straight styles.

I am texlaxed. Not bone straight at all. Just doesn't do it for me.

I use it to airdry with coconut oil. Makes it moist, shiny, and waves in my hair. I look Native American.

When using heat on the hair less is better. A spray of heat protectant, some leave-in, some serum and you're good to go.

Elasta MB is way to thick for heat use.

Um.... Can I have it?:look:

:lachen: Nah, sorry ladies, I changed my mind. I've been enlightened and I will only use it for Ptails, braiding, my edges and WNGos- I will not be applying any heat to it... I don't wanna smell like a mop anymore
