Do any of you ladies track haircare and progress on a calender? DO you record, last relaxer, when to DC,, and so on?

Yes. I was keeping up with how long to stretch, when I need to do relaxer, Aphogee 2 step treatment, regular protein treatments, dd wash and condition days, etc...I can be so forgetful. It keeps me from slackin off.

Same here, I decided to get really diligent about my hair care and I think this will definitely help me.

yep.

I used to print calendar pages, but this year I bought a 2008 calender book from Walmart for like $7 and I write everything in there. This one has lines for notes after each month, so it is a kind of journal for me and not really for tracking every little thing. I write down methods I want to try, products on my wish list, my own Hit and Misses, etc.

I do like putting my relaxers and treatments on there since I do not do those as often as washing. But, I love my calendar so much I do put my wash days on there. :yep: I like notng which products I used. Nothing exact, but if I try anything new I like to jot it down in case later that mess needs to be thrown out.

It is not too much work for me, because I enjoy doing.

Ohhhh yeah. I have a calendar that comes with pockets that I put shed hair in to track how much I lose per month - so far it's been the same amount. I know that sounds weird but it works for me :yep:

I wash my hair in the kitchen sink and use a stopper to catch the hair. I pull it out and set it aside. My mom likes to come by and try to throw them away but I scream, "Give me back my hair balls!"

I just record how many weeks post relaxer I am. On my giant calendar I have it written when I reach another month.

My roommate saw it and asked me what "32 weeks post" meant, and I ignored her. Didn't feel like explaining!

Yup I track length checks, dates I took photos, dates I will take down my braids and redo them, trims. etc...

:yep: Yes, I like keeping a calendar/diary. I try to write down everything I have done to my hair to track what works or does not work. It's a hobby for me and who knows I may turn it into a scrapbook one day when I reach my goal.

Yes, I keep track. I have everything on my computer calender and I have reminders set: what day to DC, clarify ect. I also keep track of hair loss when I wash/co-wash. I collect the hair from the hair catcher, tape it to a piece of paper and put the date on it. Im sick ya'll.:look: I used to do monthly progress pics but i've expanded that a little. I have a "my hair" folder in my pictures section of my comp. I have a folder for each month which contains pics: styles/progress/dates.

tootrendy19: we're alike. I don't feel alone anymore. Yay.

ETA: on the "hair loss chart" I also put what I washed/co-washed with. Protein or moisturizer.

Yes I do, I use a planner to document everything and have been documenting since my undergrad years in college..

It does sound weird but, it is very smart.

I just recently took out some kinky twists with corn rows in the front middle section and my hair shed like crazy, I thought I was going to lose my mind. But, if I had done what you had done, stored up my hair,LOL I would have known how much hair was supposed to shed.

Of course I could always, tkae a pick of the hair ball nad then throw it away, LOL.:spinning:

gangsta!

not mad at you.

I wish I knew sometimes how much hair shedding I have. Now, that has proved to be too much work for me. maybe I need to get one of those shower drain things that catch hair. Right before my period I get a growth spurt and then right after my period ends, I shed more I think. I doubt I'd save it, but it would be nice to see if there is a pattern.

I usually track everything...henna treatments, relaxers, how many inches I have to reach a certain goal, when I start to use a new product, etc. Shout out to HoneyDew for providing the link to the online calenders that you can print out...they come in so handy.

In the beginning of my journey i used to to keep track of everything, including my weekly poo/dc and which products i used that day. But now i just keep track of how many weeks i am post with my retouches. I also track my trims.

All the way up to my one year relaxer anniversary, I was tracking my weekly progress but I mostly use my fotki album to track events

I have a hair journal (nappydelphia) and a hair calendar that is hung up on the inside of my hair cabinet in the bathroom.

The journal I use to track products, pictures, experiments, etc. The hair calendar is to remind me of what 'week' I'm on, and what I should be doing that week. It REALLY does help to keep me 'on track', and it makes my regimen so much more straightforward - there's little to no 'guesswork' as what I need to do next.

I used to do this when the journals on here worked and I found it incredibly helpful. Hopefully the journal function is up and running soon:perplexed. It's very frustrating to not be able to track what I'm doing without a reference point to what I did and what I used a few weeks ago. I already plan start another journal on blogger and monitor my progress through there. My braids are going to be out th is weekend so I'll be starting this weekend for sure.

Me too. This helps me to know what I was doing during a particular time period that aided in my growth. Simply looking at the pictures I took doesn't really tell the whole story.

Yes, it doesn't feel like "work" when you enjoy doing it...and I do too:yep: It sort of like a little hobby of sorts.
