Are there any other methods to infuse moisture into your hair other than steam treatments and moisture block?

Maybe those two are the very things I need to keep moisture in but I want to know if theres anything else im missing?

TIA

I am not familiar with "moisture block". Keeping hair under plastic or "baggying" maintains moisture in hair.

The best thing, for me, is using a thick regular conditoner as a leave in. I use Herbal Essence Hello Hydration, which is very thick, as a leave in, and my hair has so much moisture because of it.

I do the same thing. I use conditioner as a leave in and my ends thank me for it.
conditioner on the ends and a bun and my hair is so soft and moist. It's the best thing ever.

I vote for the baggy method. I also use pre poo's and conditioner as leave ins(but I mix my own stuff so there's no build up). Since I"m CO washing regularly now I leave everything in because it gets rinsed out the next day at the longest.

Hey big sis - there is a whole thread on Moisture Block

www.gotfrizz.com

Hey my big sis(CG too!!!) I read the moisture block thing and it sounds a bit harsh. You use direct heat with a regular conditioner??? Sounds drying. I guess this can be done with the real good stuff like the stuff I use, eh? If I flat ironed my hair with glycerin or with my shea butter mixture, I wonder how that would come out? Either of you girls ever tried it? I'd like to know because I've been thinking about making a heat protectant(if I can) that I can apply before blow drying or flat ironing. But I guess all I have to do is just use what I've been using.....right????

Hey NG! I've never tried it but all of the heat protectants out there contain cones. I've use to flat iron with no drying or reversion problems thanks to Sam's advice on moisturizing hair. Not sure how different Moisture Block is from Heat Protectants.

I'm suffering from information overload right now. Anyways, talk to you soon.

Baggying about 2-3 times per week works best for me but only on a need to basis.

Shamelessly stealing this idea. Genius, I say.:yep:

I don't know if this is what you meant by the "steam" but Caruso roller system does infuse moisture into the hair. :yep:

I used the towel cap method. Now I know why I need two layers. When I used one, I could feel the heat on my scalp. ouch.

Yep, I co-wash at night and put a generous amount of HE Hello Hydration in my hair, and then in the morning before leaving out, I put some more conditioner on my ends and coconut oil on my whole head of hair, my hair looks soooo hydrated all day long!
