Everytime you see smoke doesnt mean its hair burning. If coulda been the stuff she was putting in her hair. I part my hair with a pick. Whats wrong with that? It works and my hair is still growing despite me having the audacity to use a pick to part my hair. She has a decent length and seemingly healthy hair to me. That makes me think that whatever she is doing is working for her hair.
If she was thinning, bald, or balding (which I didnt see any bald spots while she was parting) then Id have something to say. Also not everyone loves fly away hair. I purposely add shea butter or nourish n shine to my hair to keep it from flying everywhere after I flat iron it.
And how can you say what she didnt use on her hair. I saw her rub something thru her hair in the beginning. Who's to say it wasnt a heat protectant. This youtube crusade is starting to pluck my nerves...![]()
AMEN!!! LOLUm I didn't know people used towels to press hair.... That's so MUCH concentrated heat, and did you see the SMOKE coming off of the comb? And who parts their hair with a pick!
She has nice length though and surprisingly some decent tresses. The thing I don't like about her end result is how stiff her hair is from the grease. Hair hair DOES NOT MOVE! And then with all that hair on her head her wrap just sticks together with no problems, lol. If I try to wrap my hair after a fresh wash and flatiron that baby is slipping down all over the place, lol. I loathe greasy stiff hair!![]()
I agree completely;especially the bolded. The cattiness exercised by some on here is so astounding and ironic on so many levels. Wow. I don't agree w/her practices but it works for her and she seems satisfied. She has a thick, pretty head of hair. I don't see why criticizing is necessary. Y'all couldn't talk about hair practices that you may not agree without posting their vid? When it happens to folks on here in the real world (talking about their hair practices), people say "oh they're just hating".![]()
That was horrible. She put all that grease in her hair then fried it with a hotcomb.

LAWD you made me spit my water out. Wow before LHCF I used to think that was normal

Surely, this can't be right.
No heat protectant going on up in that hair, all that aggression with the comb, brush, PRESSING COMB..... Oh Lawd.

Here we go.Now,
, I am not trying to be negative, but simply get some views as to whether or not people thought this was a healthy or unhealthy way to press your hair. It was a good visual example...what can I say.
I mean, I am suprised that I have hair at all after some of the things I've done to my hair and I'm not even ashamed to admit it.
People know they are going to get comments on U Tube and I don't see why people can't be honest while commenting within reason. But I realilse that people do take things personally sometimes...sorry about that.
And let someone post a fotki pic of someone on here and start talking about their regimen. I just dont see much a of a difference. Truth be told I see alot of people on here complain about what others do to their hair and the person in question has more hair than the people complaining. But either way, carry on....

Wait so unless you have long beautiful hair you can't comment on lesser heads...if only that applied to all aspects of life....
i kinda got what she was saying... that's like an obese woman telling me i shouldn't eat carbs if i wanna lose weight. i'd probably look at her like, "and you feel qualified to give me this advice because???" but on the flip side, if she used to be 300 lbs. and is now down to 190 lbs., perhaps i SHOULD be listening because obviously she's doing something right to have dropped all that weight.
so really i didn't make much of a point did i...
well if the lady in the vid is happy with her hair length/thickness/styling method, then i say live and let live. now if she is complaining about split ends and her hair never growing... and she wants advice, sure i'd point her to LHCF. i'm done helping people unless they specifically say they want help... i don't have the time and energy to play Captain Save-A-Scalp![]()
No, but if you have short damaged hair how can you judge some one elses practices when they have a better outcome? What Im saying is what sense does it make to talk trash about someone and how they do their hair if its obviously working for them. If it doesnt work for you then fine but its its working for them why hate?Wait so unless you have long beautiful hair you can't comment on lesser heads...if only that applied to all aspects of life....
because they didn't know any better. just like many of us LHCFers didn't know any better before we joined. my ma used to grease the heck out of my scalp before blow drying, then using the curling iron on max.
this video = a reminder to us all, to see how far we've come, as far as healthy hair care is concerned.
instead of posting post after post of " *gasp* i can't BELIEVE she's brushing that hard / using a pressing comb when she's relaxed!", let's be thankful that we know better
and let's not forget for a second that we used to think that stuff like this was okay...

the combing is considered rough because she started from the top to the bottom . therefore she had to have been yanking that comb through her hair in order to detangle it. i'm sorry her does not look healthy at all. two words thin and stiff.
why do ppl post bad techniques on you tube. keep it to yourself.
