Once my hair dries, it is dry. The only way I can manage it better is to apply water to it. If I don't , it sticks out every which a way and is frizz city.

i have this problem if i didn't moisturize while it was soaking wet. But other than that, i don't have to much of a problem.

I avoid dryness by spritzing with a water based moisturizer and sealing with avocado butter daily. My hair stays soft and moisturized even after it dries.

What I call the Cap n' Go. It's in the journal section of my fotki and has made a world of difference. Now I don't worry about my hair during the day. :yep:

I try not to let my hair airdry without adding some kind of product to it while damp--either an oil/butter, or a leave in conditioner, or both. Then I dry in braids, and that seems to seal in the moisture.

I know when I was newly natural, and I tried to airdry without any products it was a dry mess. I would have to rewet every time I wanted to do something to it. I learned my lesson quickly.

i started using my conditioner (suave) as a leave in to solve this problem... it's like if i don't get the moisture in while it's wet i may as well just give up!

No, as long as I use a butter while my hair is damp, if I want to restyle, I just need to use a bit of leave-in (either AfroDetangler, or straight conditioner)

If I do any type of styling or restyling I need to apply water to my hair.

ditto. :yep: once my hair dries it's staying in whatever shape its in. if my wear my hair "out" and let it dry that way, i can make a big loose puff with a scarf if need be. but going from hair that dried in a puff to an "out" style... uh-uh not without some water... :lachen:

totally....

I use more moisturiser or leave in for my normal week-long style.
but a new style ?? bring on the waterhose...:diver:

Yes...as I progress on this natural journey I am finding that I am having to wet my hair almost daily now to get it to "behave"...

Nope, if anything, rinsing or CW'ing more often has helped...Before I would spray my hair with diluted leave-in conditioner, and I'd be sprayin my hair forever to get it wet enough to manipulate it without any problems. Or, I'd be in a rush and not get it wet enough, which was an issue cause parts of my hair would still be dry/rough.

So rinsing or conditioner washing is easier/faster and my hair just feels better. I bun alot, so I need to be able to brush my hair into a bun without worrying about my hair being so dry that it's going to cause breakage.
