I havent seen a dermatologist for it in a few years.....last I visited she said I dint have perm damage at the time.... but so much has happened since then ( pre-LHCF, PreBHM)

Im currently using Nexxus Biotin creme for my edges.... says I should see results in 45 days... it hasnt been quite that long but Im not seeing any thickness progress... the hair thats there is definitely getting longer but there is no growth in the bald spots

and on top of that, yesterday I had this constant itchy spot...almost like when ya leave a perm on for too long.... I finally went to a mirror & there was a spot that was completely red and the hair was missing..... in a spot that was already bad

Im so depressed... Im SURE this is allergy related... Im allergic to the wind blowing and am having a hard week with my allergens.... I may never know what caused the itching cuz it couldve been anything Ive touched or come across...couldve been something I ate ( We ate out over the weekend and the food didnt agree with me... couldve been a simple seasoning added) and I have this weird condition that what Im allergic to today may not be the same tommorow ( though some things stay constant)

all I know is I cant afford to lose any hair

I have been using the Ovation Cell Therapy around my edges and they have definitely gotten thicker. Is it your entire edge line or just near the temples?

Hey girl,

I'm so sorry to read this but I would recommend seeing a derm asap! We can speculate for days, but having an exp. professional will help you so much more! Please keep us posted!:theteam:

I sooooooooo feel your pain, girl. I went to a dermotologist because of my hairline. He diagnosed me with chemical alopecia (years of me using super strength relaxers on my delicate hairline killed my follicles). He put me on Rogaine for men and told me to give it 3 months to work. The rest of my hair is fine; my edges are the only problem. So far, the Rogaine has already helped to thicken and grow the hair that's already there, but the bald patches are still bald. I don't hold out much hope that the Rogaine will work, but we'll see.

Ive done the Rogaine before... it had pretty much the same results as you... and as soon as I stopped it, so went the progress...

the hair I have on my edges now is growing longer but the bald spots & ensuing thinness remains <sigh>

Im a lil more sensitive to it now since my semi-BC... I used to keep my hair long enough to cover it & no one was any wiser....
