Be honest, are you really happy with your hair right now?

okay i use heat 4x a month since i wash every week. I only do it to straighten my roots but I wil occasionally go over my entire strand. But i didn't think 4x a month would be such a big deal:nono:. i don't neglect moisturizing my ends either...so idk anymore.

but as for ur current situation. I think that last cut/trim looked great!....do u think that it will benefit in the future, or is ur hair not holding up?

Thanks girl.

That pic was when I just came from the salon. I use steam rollers everyday but it doesnt come out looking like the pic. I did a wash and set last night and it looks poofy:ohwell:

For all those who are happy with their hair, I'm happy for you:yep:

For everyone else, we just have to keep the faith:yep:

I'm happy with my hair obviously I think it could/ should be longer but I took some pics over a week ago and my mum thought it was a wig (ladies its barely full shoulder length:grin:) she called to ask me how to use gyno-daktarin (MN) - I've been trying to get her on this hair thing for a year and now she's slowly but surely getting there.

For me, its healthy so I'm happy. Oh also my widow's peak is growing in :yay:

I am very happy with my hair as of yesterday because, I can actually see my progress. Now time for me to put it away so I can reach my next goal by the end of year

Umm pretty much. I feel like I should have one inch more than what I have now. But I'm greedy because I didn't expect to get to BSL until the end of July when I initially set hair goals after my BC, luckily it seems I'll be there in June. So I'm a bit ahead of schedule.

Honestly, I'd like to beat my hair goals, not just barely stay ahead. I should probably start taking my vitamins!

I am incredibly frustrated with my hair right now because it is not growing as fast as I would like it even though I am taking a ton of vitamins. To top it all off I was trimming my hair yesterday and I ended up taking off more than I had planned to.:wallbash: On the bright side of things, however my hair is alot healthier than it used to be and the weather is warming up in the city so that should provide a boost to my hair growth because it grows faster in warmer weather.

Today is really not a good day for me to answer. Today I am SO tired of hair. period. I want to cut it off into a TWA and be done. (I am not even PMSing...just tired...)

BUT, I do love my hair and SO many things about it, so I guess I am really happy with it. Yes.

Not really. the last 2-3 inches are really crispy/dry and i still get some breakage. and every time i look at some of the strands at the crown that snapped off down to the root almost from a bad dominican blow out, i still get a little upset.

But on the bright side, my layers are growing out. and my weak/breakage spot in the back of my head has SIX INCHES of decent hair! i know that sounds short, but for the past few years that spot would reach about 3 or 4 scraggly inches and snap right off.

I hate it right now. I mean its behaving and I got good moisture, but its not growing fast enough and I am sick of natural hair.:saythat:

Thrilled... except I need to get ANOTHER water softener. We moved and I've been rinsing my hair with bottle water. It's getting annoying, but it does the trick. :yep:

Right now yes I am happy with my hair, for most of this year though I was not happy at all with it. My hair is natural and the longer it got, the less I did with it because it just took so long. I just cut several inches this past weekend and so far things have been a lot better.

Yes. I'm happy with the health of my hair. I have two different textures, since I'm transitioning, but my hair is very healthy. It doesn't break and it is well moisturized and I have not had any difficulties untangelig. However, i'm not happy about my length but that's just me being impatient.

I'm happy with it. It's growing better than I had expected. And I am learning so much about my hair and texture, so for me that's been fun :)

:yep:

I believe that your thoughts/beliefs do shape your results. And if you are focusing on the negatives of your hair - that is what it shows you - the negatives. But if you focus on the positive, on the other hand - it excels with leaps and bounds.

:bighug: You just have to find the things that you really enjoy about your hair, and focus on that!

Right now, me & my hair are in a lovers groove ..... :love3:

ITA. When ever I am not liking my hair I think about where it used to be and the terrible shape was in and I feel better because I know it's not where I want it to be it but could be worst! You gotta love you hair ladies...

I'm in the middle. I hot combed today to check length. It came out poofy, but I could still see I have gotten crazy growth from my daily CW and my diet. However since last week I have been getting breakage, so I have to go into tlc mode. Also it's just not shiny like I want. I also am redy for all the blonde to grow out.

I am not very happy with my hair right now. It was doing sooo well about a month ago, but now it seems lifeless. I am not sure what to do. But I have been using less moisture on my hair cause I had too much moisture in my hair....I need to write down my strict regimen.

I also have a thyroid condition, and I think that it's affecting the "life & look" of my hair. I also had some serious breakage in the middle, and it hass me soo upset, but I am now focusin on preventing anymore breakage.

The breakage has decreased, and so far that's good. But I am still a shedding sufferer. :wallbash:

I am happy with the health of my hair but I just do not like how I am kind of style-challenged..lol

Honestly, no. But I did resolve today to renew my commitment to my hair and myself to do something about it. :yep:

I'm not. And I think that's what's preventing it from growing. let me explain. In the past when I was content with my hair, it suprised me by growing and did well but when it was at it's worst and all I did was focus on the breakage and the damage my hair stood at a standstill.

Right now, i'm underprocessed (I could pass for a natural and I'm not exaggerating). My nape is completly broken off. It's growing back but verrrryyy slowly. I'm constanly looking at other females, wishing I had their hair. I need to break this habit because my damage could be much worse.

I really believe not being happy with our hair right now can prevent it from growing just like too much heat, no moisture, etc...

Just something I was thinking about.

Loca I expect this from someone who is new to this site. You've been here a long time and I'm surprised that you are experiencing things like broken nape and just damaged hair in general. I've tried to follow suggestion posted here on the site and that's why my hair is making progress. I'm not totally happy with my hair but I'm content at the moment. It's longer than it has ever been and it due to me being consistent with my regime and stretch and neutralize my hair.. I don't have any suggestions to give you but I do want to say you can stay the course and start trusting some of the things some of the girls here say

Loca....I think we may be hair cousins. I've read several of your posts and it seems as our hair has similar properties (coarse and non porous).

I must say that I'm not very happy with my hair. I get bits of hair every time I touch it along with knots and tangles. Plus, I feel that my hair is not long enough to do the styles I'd like to wear. However, it grows well and I don't have a problem with shedding. My goal is to get my hair between APL and BSL and I'll be content and satisfied.

Girl, the broken nape is from the last stylist who didn't wash out the relaxer properly. I can tell by the way it broke off.

All of my setbacks have been from stylists. I've done everything right, low heat, daily moisture, weekly DC, protective styling every day. I follow the advice here pretty much to a T. The only thing that I do slack in is my diet :ohwell:

Girl I'd just be satisfied with shoulder at this point. :ohwell:

yes my hair is very non porous and coarse. It's a headache sometimes. I've been on this site for 3 years and I've never met anyone with hair like mine. I used to claim 4b, but all the 4b's had a looser texture than me. IRL, I don't think I've met many people with my hair type either. My hair is very tightly coiled plus it's coarse so it's a struggle.

I am bored out of my mind with my hair right now.:ohwell: It's growing pretty good (I've grown back all of the hair I trimmed early feb:yep:) but I am just so bored right now. I've tried to no avail to color. I tried demi-permanent and it didn't show up AT ALL. I tried permanent, but it didn't take. Color was my way of trying to break up the monotony. I made an appt with a colorist only to be told she couldn't do my hair that day (then proceeded to set up an appt for weeks later ).

At this point I don't know what do do. I was sick of wearing buns, so I began wearing twistouts, and now I'm sick of those too. I don't bother to straighten because I workout so it will never stay straight. I wore a 1/2 wig all last summer so I'm completely over the fake hair thing. I am seriously contemplating cutting my hair super short (a cute pixie cut) and relaxing it. But who knows, I probably wouldn't be content with that either.:nono:

I don't know. I want fly hair, not just long hair. Since I rarely ever wear my hair straight it doesn't seem long anyway. I just feel like my hair is kinda just "sitting there".

Grlfriend I think you might need to consider doing some of these treatments yourself. I also had problems with beauticians and that's why I've been doing everything myself.. My relaxers, hennas, trims, braids everything. I know doing a relaxer can be scary but if I were you I would start to consider it. Those beauticians don't need to get paid for the work they do..
