Except i just use one towel,and i don't always get under the dryer,but my hair is super duper soft every time!!!

I know i have to ease up on it though...but i really don't want toerplexed

When I did it Sunday (which was my fourth time in about eight days), my hair did feel mushy, so I sprayed it with my mixture of Duo Tex/Eqyss Avocado Mist/Aphoghee Green Tea and Keratin and it corrected it immediately.

I've done it twice in the last few weeks and my hair is so soft that it won't hold much curl. I've used the Green Tea stuff and I like it. I will have to cut back on the steam to probably twice a month.

I do this once a week when I DC and my hair feels fine. I think a lil protein with the conditioner you use when steaming will help you out

Well then I'll know not to do this more than once a week but I'm itching to buy me a steamer! I got it done once (paid 10 dollars for 10 minutes!) and the whole experience was just very spa-like and very nice!

Has anyone thought about the heatcap for a steamer?

I printed out SJ's instructions for a homemade steam, but realized i have this heatcap that says it produces steamy air inside to set hair,---had it about a month or two and havent used it yet...was $50

Yup, that's the same thing I believe so i just bought a heating cap...waaay cheaper.

Their saying that instead of just a plastic cap and hooded dryer, you can put like a towel on inside of the plastic cap, and it will produce steam and moistuize/penetrate your hair better
If you have a hooded dryer, i think that can be used, i dont know if the heatcaps are better though.

I think I'm still gonna go for a real steamer. I tried that washcloth/plastic cap/hooded dryer thing one day and I wasn't impressed.

You welcome---Oh yeah thats why they say to do anyway, i was reading some more--so its either

*Conditoner/oil, towel/turban, plastic cap, then another towel and plastic cap
Then a heat cap, or hooded dryer

Then i think adw425 does one with product on hair, stocking cap, plastic bag, heat cap (?)



I just tried, but i did a hard protein treatment before and didnt have a good moisturizing conditoner so my hairs not as soft as i'd like, softer then it would have been i think if i had just let the conditoner sit on my hair with a plastic bag.

I have used it with protein, DC, a cheap (VO5) moisturizing condish and with my leave-in. I soak my stocking cap in hot water (my tap water gets really, really hot), plastic cap over that and then my heat cap. It works very well. If steaming with a real steamer is better, I guess I would just have a hairgasm.
