I slather it on from roots to tips:grin:. I like the ends really saturated though since it is the oldest hair on my head and needs a lot of conditioning. I pay more attention to my roots when I'm stretching my relaxer however.

I pay more attention to my new growth. Im transitioning and I want my natural hair to be in top condition when I cut off the relaxed ends. I am a root to tipper... :look:

This is one reason why I cant let "a little conditioner go a long way. I need my new growth to look like its being RELAXED with conditioner and then the length to be totally covered too.

I apply conditioner with an applicator/dye brush from roots to ends. I generally try to focus on my ends because the roots are new hair and the ends are old, so they get the most attention :yep:

It depends on the conditioner. The V05 Moisture Milk is the one I try my best not to get on my scalp because it leaves crazy buildup! :nono: Usually I put on from near root to tip.

That's why I could never really get into co-washing, I hated smooshing conditioner into my scalp in place of shampoo, and then later having buildup. Not a good situation for me.

As for conditioning I smother my strands, focusing on the ends but distributing throughout to the roots.

i apply to length only (some does get on the scalp but...)

i've been taught that conditioner is for the hair not the scalp but also, in my case, if i get conditioner on my scalp, it make my scalp flaky or at least itch.

I apply conditioner from root to tip.

When I condition my dry hair, I use an applicator brush to make sure I'm getting all of my hair. I don't use the apply brush when my hair is wet though.

I made a thread about how people only use a small amount of conditoner---
I use to get my roots, then in sections get the length of my hair and ends, then get my ends again all together---I was using like 6oz of conditoner at a time :nono: LOL

And i learned that if you lean your head over (i've only tried while hair was wet), you can get some and apply it to all of your ends, then the length of your hair like 2x and work it through to your ends again, then get your roots
In the end my hair is 100% saturated with conditoner, way less time, and i use waaaay less conditoner

ETA---For me, it also seems easier to manipulate through my roots when the rest of my hair has conditoner on it, its much more pliable for me.---the other times my roots/newgrowth/hair would be/are so thick, i would feel like i was missing sections (and would be), and thats why i would use so much
