I would like to see pictures WITHOUT the 3x flash on. The flash can be very misleading. :look:

I want to see NATURAL shine. No flash, no product.

i think that, no matter what, the flash on cameras are going to be misleading. turning out the flash will result in a more difficult to see picture, while leaving the flash on will result in extreme mega shine that just isn't there on a regular basis.

instead of making shine the prime factor in how healthy hair is... why not focus on thickness and length, and let any shine that is there enhance the beauty of the picture?

:look:

How about hmmmm...natural light? Outside pictures...by the window..etc

Can you take a picture with and without the flash so we can see the difference you're referring to?

Like pookie mentioned, turning off the flash will result in a more difficult to see pic.

Aw! I stepped on someone's toes and got a one star. booo hooo. :lachen:

I think if I had to wait for a day with the sun out where I was doing my hair I'd never get a picture taken!

i don't think pics with flash are all that misleading. i have some flash-heavy pictures in my fotki, but that's how shiny my hair is in direct sunlight. why would i take a picture of my hair looking dull, ya know? also, i have color in my hair, and it's easier to see when i'm in direct sunlight, and when i use the flash on my camera. :yep:

just like some people don't like wet hair pictures, there will still always be people that take wet hair pictures. to each her (or his) own.

plus, i think it's quite obvious that very few people's hair just shines on its own

not to take this thread in another direction or anything... but if something like camera flash is misleading... could one argue that using coconut oil for shine and taking a picture of freshly oiled hair is misleading? or that shine serums / gels are misleading?

sorry ... :spank: bad poookie... :drunk:

:lachen:, ITA.

I think most of us take our pics in our bathrooms which have bright light to begin with. I really don't think any lady here tries to fake the shine with a flash :ohwell:- it just happens with close ups, esp.

I have a few pics in my fotki that don't have lots of flash on the hair- similar to the OP's avi. If you don't get a lot of inspiring pics here then I'm sure that you will come across some fotki's that have pics with low or no flash :yep:- I know that I have seen them:sekret:.

Whats the big deal? Do it really matter? Can someone be that offended? :look:
Seriously. Just be thankful and gracious that folks are taking pics and putting them up for the aid and advancement of others. Now folks are art directing other people's pics:perplexed?

I agree. No one is obligated to personally please anyone with their photos. If you would like to see photos without a flash, take one.

There is no defense. People are doing the best they can with what they have. Some people dont even have a digicam and are using their phone, some live in dorms with little natural lighting, some dont have anyone to take their pics for them, some only do their hair at night......the basic point is people are putting up what they can. Just be glad people are doing it and K.I.M.
