Kei can you cornrow her hair in a nice design in the front and rollerset her in the back(maybe steam rollers would hold better or if you arent opposed to a one time barrel curling iron session.) What about flexirods? What did you use for hold?

I use lottabody for the rollers, frizzease for the flatiron and a heat spray

It's really pretty straight! Do you prefer to have it straight? My niece (and I mention her because I have three boys, so the only heads of hair I do are mine and hers when she stays with us some weekends) has a texture somewhere in the 2b/2c range. Most of the time she wears it in ponytails or twists--typical "little black girl" styles. When her mother does anything extra to her hair, she just leaves it down with a little aloe vera gel to define the curl. That way you're working with her texture, and she won't lose the style ripping and running like little ones do.

What about pincurls or spirals if you're feeling ambitious? A flexirod set, maybe?
