Doesn't work for me. :look: Oil or butter and a scarf? LOL Not even if I tie it down VERY tight until I wake up with headaches, my edges will not laydown with I have lots of NG.

I guess some of us just don't have it like that.

I can get them to lay down for a hot minute and that's all! Back to fluff city.

I am okay with it, too. But, I know I am not the only black women out here that just cannot get the NG to lay down with a scarf and some cream.

lol..mines lays down flat when soaking wet, usin a leave in and then dried like that...but if its dry and poofy already then yeh it usually doesn't work

OMG :lachen: where did you find that pic of Condy as Foxy?!

She would never eva eva eva go natural. She will rock the helmet rollerset greased with Dixie Peach for life.

She does have some thick, healthy hair tho that would make a bangin twistout!

She is definitly natural, press in curl with so of that royal grease in the red card board jar. her hair is awful. I can't hear what she is saying because I;m trying to figure out what to do for her hair. No style what so ever, I even dislike how she sits. She needs 10 minutes with a real %*()^). Like Cat Williams says.

Honeydew, Why does Condi look like Maxwell circa 2000? :lachen:

I think Condi could wear her hair natural if she wore it back in a braid, but no she couldn't wear it out unless it were like 1-3a.
There is one of the Undersecretaries that has natural hair tho'.

I am not hating on Condi or her hair.

When my hair gets to "All That" status, I will give my opinion on hers.

But, I do think she could rock a natural style. even if she did the big chop after she was sec of state, I think she could have done it. But people would be hating on that, too. LOL "Why did she cut her hair?" "She needs a relaxer" LOL Can't win or lose! LOL

Honestly, though I think more black women would rock natural if they could get over the transition scare and also learned how to take care of it.

Still, I will always be happy that she does not wear weaves. I cannot think of too many famous black women that don't wear weaves. I get sick of seeing them, not the mention those darn lacefronts.

And have yall see Condi lately? Her hair has been looking much better.

Oh, that afro pic was online. I cannot take claim, someone else created that. LOL

Oh okay LOL  I am glad to hear this. Cream and a scarf have nothing on my edges! LOL But I can see how wetting them works.

About the bolded, I posted a few weeks ago in the OT forum how good her hair has been looking recently, with body too. :)

:lachen: Every time I see her, her helmet hair makes me cringe! Ugh

I wonder if she'd let me throw some Curlformers up in her piece?

:yep: That would be so cute. I would love to see her hair in an updated cute style. She might step it up after November.

Condi and Michelle both look like they obviously have press & curls. They have too much poof! I could never get that volume relaxed.

Didn't DL Hugley make a joke about Condi needing a perm and leaving the hotcomb alone? I thought it was obvious. Her hair is very textured and coarse. I think there is a natural in the white house! Yay! :lachen:

Okay this is a very sincere post:

This thread is making me feel disbelief about many of the "truths" we hold so dear on this board. (Not justt his one, there have been others) Well maybe I am just feeling like an odd one out, because I don't have super straight hair, even though it is relaxed.

Maybe that is why I can't stretch or do some of the other things other relaxed ladies on this board can do. I did have 2 different people at work that commented that they thought I had natural hair that has been hotcombed or something. :perplexed Is it that kinky? Nope, been relaxed since I was pre-teen.

I just have poofball relaxed hair ( I love it :yep:). I have learned the wonders of a flat iron and straightening serum (something I never knew before the board), but my rollersets (my own and professional) leave me with lots of volume - almost too much.

I have nappy edges and nape and they never get bone straight unless I leave the relaxer in too long, which I will not do.

I think I am going to be :sekret: with my hair. :look: I got Condi hair on my head.

Your hair just like mine nothing wrong with it. I used to get aske all the time if I had natural hair that i hot combed. I just choose to wear the bone straight flat dull thin look..lol
Your hair is beautiful!!!
Condolezzas hair is nice and thick but looks very greasy and stiff sometimes.

ummm, no ma'am Condi uses Phyto. Actually, she has really nice hair when it's not all shelacked.

The same thing they've been saying since the beginning of time. Nah she couldn't be natural. Not conservative enough. Natural hair still has the stigma of being radical. I think if natural hair was the norm for black women in this country, it might another story but as for now, no.

i agree. a large part of changing people's perception of natural hair needs to happen in the black community itself.

i agree with the person who said that it seems like condi herself doesn't want to be natural. if she were to go natural, her style options would be limited (due largely to what i've written above); she could probably get away with long twists, a sleek puff or small conservative braids. nothing "wild" like a twist out and an afro would draw too much attention. i could see the u.s press and some international presses focusing on her hair too much if she ever went down that route.

i've seen people who are relaxed with "very textured" (this is not condi's hair, imo) and coarse hair. i was one of them at certain points whilst relaxed; not all relaxed heads have their hair bone straight. i personally don't take d.l's joke as confirmation that she is natural.

on another note, i was never under the impression someone with nappy roots/edges but otherwise straight hair was natural. i always presumed they already relaxed but were in "need" of a relaxer to touch up their ng; i held onto this idea before i was natural.

You're not the only one, my hair just looks like i get it pressed even though i have a relaxer.

I thought she was already natural (press&curl maybe).:ohwell: Sometimes it looks like she could use a relaxer,a hot oil treatment, or something.:perplexed

LOL I told my hubby the same thing!

I think she could...she got there b/c of her skills not her hair. She's in now she should just come in with a BC. LMAO That junk would be all over the news. :lachen::lachen::rolleyes:

Like Brit Brit's shave. :lachen::lachen:

Edited to say: OMG LMFAO at that ALERT!!! :lachen::lachen:Yall got me at work ROTF!

Yes! I've always thought that her strong facial features would be better accentuated and softer with natural hair...

OK...Off to start my own thread.

Ya'll who are encouraging Michelle and Condoleezza to go natural are forgetting what happened the last time a major black public figure wore her hair natural.

Lani Guinier ended up with a headline that said "Funny name, funny hair, she's history!" And, Lani Guinier is half-white with either 2 or 3 something hair.
