I have CHI Turbo and a Variable Temp FHI...I definitely like the FHI better!! It gets the job done on the first pass, w/my CHI I have to make at least 2 passes through the hair to get it close to the shine that the FHI delivers

I used the same products I had been using before I got the Sedu so I credit the difference to the iron :grin:
I wash and deep condition with either Keracare or Creme of Nature, now adding an oil to my conditioner. After my final rinse, I use Keracare's leave-in, Redken's Smooth Down Heat Glide, and Proclaim's Glossing Polish Color & Heat Protection on wet hair. Dry hair by whichever method I choose (airdrying, hood dryer, or blow dryer) and re-apply the Proclaim Heat protector before using the flat iron. That's it that's all.

I read through all of the folica.com review before I made my decision and so far everything said is true.

Is the 1 inch an adequete size for all hair lengths?
 
I just bought a Sedu -- it's like a brand new head of hair !!! I have a 1.5" - usually I go for the 1" but it's so light that I haven't noticed the difference. I use a mix of lacio lacio, garnier sleek n shine and john frieda straight ahead spray on damp hair then allow to air dry. When it's almost dry I separate into sections and add a drop of Chi silk infusion. :drool: My hair was sooo soft and shiny. I stretched for 6.5 months and just texlaxed on new year's eve -- I'm officially in love.
 
I've only used my maxiglide once and I didn't get my natural hair that straight. I guess I might not have used a high enough setting. Too scared that I might burn my hair straight.

I did have some shine though but that could have been due to the polisher.

I am now thinking if the next maxiglide try doesn't work out I might look into getting a sedu.
 
FHI! It's the only (high quality) flat iron I've tried, but I love it! It gets my hair so smooth and silky, and it gets my hair super straight and flowy after just one pass. The only time I have to go over my hair more than once is when I'm being a lazy cow and try to iron big chunks rather than smaller pieces. I don't even have to blowdry first to have light and flowy hair :D

FHI + Fantasia IC Heat Protecting serum = :drool: :gorgeous:

Right now I have tried:
Wigo--first ceramic was ok, hair used to snag and the ceramic was chipping.
Sedu--after 1000 great reviews, how could I go?
CHI--BS, no temperature control and the plates suck compare to the smoothness of a Sedu.

With my coarse 4a/b new growth, the Sedu lets me stretch to 4 months easily. And my relaxed hair doesn't get burnt, singed or crispy..

ITA, ya'll know how I feel about my baby. She finally broke last week after four years and one month of wonderful and faithful service. I am going to order another one this fall, but Sedu definitely lives up to the hype for me.
 
Sedu... I've had my hair done with a CHI and did not really like the results. I think my hair might've even come out better with the Conair than the CHI. The Sedu made me put away the Conair forever. My friend bought a CHI and I bought a Sedu. Big difference. I find though, that I can not find a flat iron that doesn't snag my hair. :ohwell:

the wet-to dry one for $119 on ebay.

I think this one will do the trick. It has infra-red & negative ion dispensing holes, heat resistant dual cove, top of the line plates, slip resistant thumb hold, fnd digital display, tangle free swivel cord, ergonomic to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome and heats up to 430 degrees.
 
I guess if I was a person that flatiron my hair often I would pick the Sedu. I actually have one :spinning:. I just haven't gotten my money worth for that thing :wallbash:.

I had the hot pink GHDs but they were faaaaarrrr to hot for my hair!! I had to get rid of them.
I ordered my FHIs last night and cant wait to use them. Going to stalk the website now until they arrive at my door.....

Same here. I was surprised the first time I used my FHI - I couldn't believed it straightened my hair in only 1 swipe.

The only flat irons I've used are FHI and Maxiglide (and Gold'N Hot, which isn't even worth mentioning :lol:). I get better shine with my FHI, but that might be because of the Tresemme Straightening Gel I use with it.
 
My FHIs arrived and I used them last night on 80% dry hair. My hair is so soft and shiny and has been all day, even with the rain this morning and me forgetting my umbrella my hair is still straight soft and shiny.
