Ok, I need some major help!!

I've heard so many great reviews regarding the Mane N Tale products and I was so excited to try it. I went out and purchased the original conditioner and shampoo on Saturday and used it on Tuesday. I was so disappointed after the use because it left my hair really hard and tangled. What could have gone wrong?

After thinking about what I did before using Mane N Tale, I thought that the pretreatment with Queen Helene Cholesterol may have been too much protein for my hair, so to test my theory of over doing the protein, I decided to try Mane N Tale again, but this time with a deep moisturizing treatment afterwards (45 minutes). My hair still didn’t feel soft and moisturized. What am I doing wrong?:wallbash:

I'd like to keep using this, but I'm not sure if I can. My question is, (1) for those of you who use this and love it, are you natural or relaxed? I'm in the process of transitioning and my relaxed ends seem to tangle very easily and this didn’t help; (2) what steps do you take when using it and how does your hair feel afterwards; and (3) is there anyone that has found that they just can't use it--it's not for them? I hope it’s not the latter because I would really like to use it as it has improved the condition of a lot of people’s hair.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks ladies!!!!

The original MnT is protein rich. So unless your hair loves protein, you'd need to follow up with something moisturizing. Or mix this in with some oils or moisturizing conditioners.

I can't use this alone as a DC. My hair would be dry and tangled also.

I am relaxed. I use the shampoo and the conditioner. I pre poo before using teh shampoo. Sometimes I just use the conditioner for co washing too.

I've been using mane n tail as a leave in for a few weeks, but I do moisturize with ORS oil and mango butter. I thought Queen Helene Cholesterol was a moisturizing conditioner.

I had that problem with Mane N Tail that I bought from the grocery store. I had been using it for months, but from Sally's. I check the ingredients and they are different!!!!!!!!

I emailed Mane N Tail and asked them if they have different formulas for Sally's Beauty and they never replied. If I use mane N Tail, I only use the one from Sally's.

But that is just my experience.

I am transitioning too. If you want to use MNT products that are good for transitioners and help with tangles, these 2 products a great (the MNT detangler is good too):

... this shampoo never left my hair tangled ....NEVER :)

... it is rich, creamy and detangles almost as good as my Schwarzkopf Oil-Nutritive (the comb just glides through with this stuff ... the Oil-Nutritive that is). MNT Replenishing comes in second place.

Great. Thanks ladies. I will definitely try this one.

I used Mane n' Tail when I first transistioned. The shampoo was just too much protein for my transistioning hair. I still have the liter that I bought. My relaxed ends loved to be CW with the condish but for the NG, it was protein overload within a week's time. So I switched to V05 for CW.

I'm natural, but I wear my hair pressed out. :yep:

First I put an oil blend in the conditioner, then I mix it with a moisturizing conditioner. :yep:

No problems whatsoever. :superbanana:

Mane and Tame is what I have been using to condition my hair while in braids (trying to use it up). I wash with my Elucence volumizing shampoo then slap on a good helping of MnT, let it sit for a while then I rinse my braids and I'm done. Haven't had any issues doing this.
