I am currently running out and almost down to my last drop of conditioner and shampoo. i've been using this rice and olive oil shampoo. i only put the shampoo on the scalp and massage 1 time. i do not rub it in or lather and scrub. after a little massaging i rinse out and on to a deep condition. which has lately been ors replenishing pack. i dont want to have to keep buying those and am thinking of going full out ayurvedic. however ive also been hearing sooo much about aveda dr. 1) which one do you guys think is the better system to convert to?

also, i'm planning on going to indian grocer and buying all the ayurvedic oils i'll need and just washing with the shakaiki bar and conditioning with...well... with i dont know. which of those oils are for deep contioning?

OR should i just purchase this shampoo http://www.sandhusayurveda.com/core/media/media.nl? and this conditioner http://www.sandhusayurveda.com/s.nl/it.A/id.25/.f?sc=13&category=362 in addition to buying the oils?? i can't help but wonder if the washes and oils dont all do the same thing :wallbash:

p.s. i also use the gro-aut oil......PJISM IS KILLING MEEEEEEE!!!!!!! HELLLLLPPP!!!

Why choose between the two? You can do both. Use the DR conditioner and incorporate ayurveda into your regimen =)

I bought a box each of shikakai (sp) ,amla, neem, some vatika oil, amla oil (big bottle for pre-wash) and I think I spent under 15.00:grin: I can't remember, how much the Aveda DR cost, but I think I spent somewhere around 50.00 for the three small tubes:look:. Il ike my hair muuuuuucccccchhhhh better with the ayurvedics. Hope that helps

im really happy u said that. cuz i really just want to go all in with ONE method. my concern with ayurvedic is that i want my hair to be supple, shiny and full of body. and worry that ayurvedics will leave me with strawlike hair. im also going to purchase a cheapie for co washing but really want to see more improvement in the overall state of health in my hair. can u ellaborate more on ur ayurvedic experience while i google nearby indian grocers!!

When I first started with the ayurvedics, the grocer i went to only had the Amla oil and a premade shikakai-neen shampoo, so I started out with that. I also use a deep conditioner afterwords (NTM) I also stopped using direct heat and started roller setting. I have since found the powders and I like them a lot. I will try to find some links for you
