*i feel you on the "La" thing... i'm an 80's baby too and my mama wanted to name her first daughter (me) Lanita, after her friend Anita Renea. the only reason she didn't is because my dad and all his 7 siblings have names that start with an "L" and she didn't wanna continue that tradition. i did get the middle name Renea (pronounced like Renee) though.
I've done two mini chops so far, but there's no way I'd do a big chop.
The only reason the mini chops didn't give me a stroke is because I always wear my hair up. I have a hair appointment on Saturday, and I'm looking forward to seeing my hair down. I'm not sure if I'm going to do a mini chop this time or not. Sigh..... The funny thing is, when I get a cut, I'm not bothered by it UNTIL someone else sees my hair down and goes 'OMG! You got your hair cut'. Then I start to panic a bit.

All is going well!! Since I have witnessed long transitions on this board, I know that they are possible and I don't have to BC. Plus, just like you, I can't imagine getting a relaxer at 80!
