This time, I'm in it for the long haul! Both of my daughters are in it with me as well! (Plus, if I feel the need to relax, I will just slap some braids in it.) :yep:

I'm in it "full throttle" this time around though. No more relaxin' for me! :grin:

Way to go girl. BlackBarbie has been transitioning for 14 months, and she's not big chopping either. Take a look at her avatar pic (or either pics in the gallery).
 
Wow, I'd only seen the bun picture before! I love your hair. Good luck with transitioning, I always flirt with the idea especially since my hair's fine. Your posts are always so nice.
 
Congrats Allandra. It took me about 4-5 years to completely transition. I started with MB hair. Now I'm WL. I think there was a period where I grew a good couple of inches of scab hair. I also did mini chops in between but I never chopped above BSL. I kept my roots pressed. There was no way I was going to BC with my big ole head. Good luck!
 
This is great! More of a boost to the rest of the transitioning club.

And ladies...you know we always need a boost. Especially when taking this journey without a BC.

Congratulations Allandra, and I'm so happy to finally see your gorgeous hair. In my mind I'm trying to figure out ways to help you be more comfortable with showing us pics.

What if you posted really small avatar sized photos with low resolution and a watermark. Then it'd be completely useless for anyone to steal.

Or maybe you could do it like the NFL & NHL when they release new logos that are confidential...They are only available for 72 hours to approved licensees. :yep: and then immediately deleted.

C'mon...that could work ( right) huh?>!:grin:

I used to always flirt with the idea of transitioning too. After I got my last touch up, I decided to go for it. So far, so good.

Wow @ 4 - 5 years. This is going to be a long transition. Hmmm. I'm still down for it. Do you have any relaxed hair left at all?
 
Allandra, old or not, your hair is AMAZING!!!!! It looks so shiny and healthy in your avatar!!!

This is how I want to do it. Thanks so much for posting this. When I get to BSL, I think I'll park it there and trim often until the relaxed hair is totally off.

Pretty picture. Congratulations. I have been mulling over the idea myself. I miss my natural texture. If I do, I ain't bc'n either, so be sure to share tips!

Thanks for all of you for the lovely comments.

I'm looking forward to transitioning. I know there will probably be a frustrating day here and there, but I'm definitely down for it. I sure am glad there are a ton of ladies here with lovely natural hair. I'm sure I'll be posting questions from time to time.
