In hair purgatory
I dont know if this was asked but i tried search and its acting funny. but do any 4s have hang time? if it is is it silky? non silky? How long is it? what products do you use to achieve hang time? does it have to be in a certain style? add any other info that would help too. im wondering if i should just give up now:ohwell:

Mine hangs on it's own but if I want it silky there has to be heat involved. CHI Silk Infusion and a flatiron make mine hang beautifully and give it lots of movement.:yep:

Urm, no. I get hang time when my hair is wet, and unclarified. Once the water stops hitting it, the upward motion begins. :lachen:If it's clarified, it doesn't matter if the water is hitting it, it still doesn't hang. I'm about chin length.

I have hang time when:
- my hair is in twists (wet or dried to hang)
- my hair is SOAKING wet (my crown and front hair don't hang though)
- my hair is SOAKED with heavy conditioner (cholesterol and oil combo)

It's not silky, but it's soft. There's a sheen and sometimes a shine to it.

When in twists, my "hang time" lasts so long as I sleep with a scarf. No scarf = jutting out twists in the morning. When my hair is soaking wet, my hang time lasts less than an hour I guess.

Don't give up. I hear the longer the natural hair gets, the more the hang time.

Definitely all 4s are not created equal. I think pretty much all of us will have twists that hang after they are a few inches long. But loose hair? Not me? Maybe once it got down to my booty it might start to get heavy enough to hang. But otherwise, that's a negative. Looking at your avatar, though, I'd think you'd have a much better chance at hangage than me.

I don't think I have the hair type to EVER get any hang time. The only time my hair ever pointed groundward was in braids, and if I put ALOT of conditioner on it. Just plan water wasn't enough.
