I am stretching until 26 weeks. I decided to do something different for 30 days at a time. My first 30 days are over. I cowashed everyday for the entire time and either airdried or rollerset. I blowdried once.

My ng is getting ROUGH:wallbash:. But I think this time i am only going to co wash 3x's a week and airdry. Its getting hard this time cuz I am looking tore up:nono::nono:. I sure hope someone post something good cuz I need some help.

Same here...I'm interested to see what other 4b stretchers do when their new growth gets rough.

I'm not a pro at the stretching thing but I try my hardest. Once the 4th week passes, it's a real challenge for me. MY NG grows in dry and extremely curly. I've tried to do styles like Bantu Knots or pin curls but my roots make my hair look like its been in a funnel...
I try to keep my hair supermoisturized and co-wash and seal often.

I stretch 3 months at a time, I keep my hair moisturized and bunned the whole time and deep condition once a week with heat.

I stretch 10-12 weeks. I wear a roller-set and pin curl at night. DC weekly and spray Sta-Sof-Fro on my roots every other night.

I'm 6 months post relaxer because I'm transitioning. I've been doing twistouts with Fantasia IC Gel with Sparkle Lites. The gel really helps to control my new growth and lay my hair flat.

I'm trying to go for a 6 month stretch; I'd really like to go for a year. I'm not sure if I can hold out that long. I've never gone over 3 months (only because I was wearing microbraids).

I'm going to continue to wear braids for the rest of the year. I'm using MN on my scalp daily and I spray the braids with Worlds of Curls curl moisturizer. Sometimes I use the Hawaiian Silky 14 in 1 moisturizer.

I see some of yall are straight up HARD CORE!!!...either that or I'm not really a 4B...maybe a 5C because I don't think I can go for 6 months without braids...right now I'm 6 weeks post and trying to go for 8 and IF I get that far, I gonna try for 10-12 max...I don't want to get anymore weave (braids/twist/etc) so I'm just trying to get ideas...thanks for posting.

You should consider gradually stretching. This time stretch for 8 weeks, next time go for 9 weeks....

I'm 7 weeks post. I do a prepoo with a concoction of coconut milk, coconut oil, olive oil, conditioner (QH Cholesterol or ORS Mayo) for 1 hr. It softens the NG. I wash 2 xs a week. Once with shampoo and the second wash, a CW. I DC each time I wash also. I am strictly doing the scarf method and no more rollersets since the NG is getting heavy and the further along I get in my stretch. This lays my hair down flat and I pin up the back. I am a 4b extremely coarse/tough hair!

I have the dryest hair and scalp. And usually I can't go long without a relaxer until I joined. It's been about a month since I joined and I hadn't relaxed yet. I've been using the baggy method all over my head for some weeks now to help my dry hair and I have stopped shedding all over the floor. My NG is usually very rough until I started to co wash more, but what seems to help with my dry new growth is the Stabilizer Plus. I tried the pre poo with coconut oil, lime juice, evoo, conditioner, etc and that turned my hair in the wrong direction. So I learned moisture, moisture, moisture and Stabilizer Plus for my hard to work with hair.

I am currently strething for 6 months, usually 3. I usually start co-washing daily and oil rinsing once a week when the new growth gets rough cause I exercise 4 days a week it works well. That, ponytail rollersets and blowing out roots (can't do that now that I'm in bootcamp), and braid out's are wonderful at hiding the seriousnees that is my new growth.

As I've mentioned in other threads, the scarf method (see Sylver2's tutorial) makes it so easy to stretch my 4b hair for weeks and weeks. I choose to airdry in the scarf overnight with the length rolled up in the back for smooth hair which stays close to the scalp even with lots of new growth. :yep:
