I'm not using any oil sheens but I've stopped buying Isoplus and started to use Cantu in my oil sheen days...I love the smell and a little can go a long way.

I try not to use OS often but when I need to I use Luster's Renutrients. It's probably the best smelling and best all around sheen I've ever used. I LOVE IT! :lick::lick::lick:

Here's a description from the site below. You can see the pic by clicking on the link.

Luster's Renutrients Revita-Shine Sheen Spray is a light weight formula with a special blend of Avocado, Olive and Coconut Oils, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter and Vitamins A, E, & D3 that revitalizes and conditions the hair, soothes the scalp and reduces split ends while restoring the hair's healthy glow. I picked other. I love Revlon Finisheen. It adds shine and does not lay on my hair. Plus, it doesn't have a smell that fights with my perfume....I cannot stand having on too many scents :nono:

But, I have prolly tried everyone of the oil sheens listed on the poll

I chose ORS oil sheen, I spray a bit on right after I wrap my hair for my saran-wrap treatment. I LOVE it, because it doesn't weigh my hair down like some sheens tend to.

i really dont use oil sheen but when i did use ORS the smell nearly killed me. so that put an end to that

I voted ORS Oil Sheen. I like it cause it doesnt weight down but something is wrong with them spray caps, thats the onlythings I hate about it.

Even though I've learned so much from everybody and followed most of the rules of my fellow LHCFers, oil sheen something I never strayed from. They all seem to work pretty much the same, but as far as which ones I buy on the regular, they are KeraCare and Proclaim. The Luster's Renutriets, royal blue Isoplus, and ORS have all been in my house within the last year. A stylist used Mizani Shyne in the shop and I liked it, too. I use oil sheen before styling after taking my scarf off, after rollersets, and sometimes to seal moisturizer at night before wrapping. I guess I use it for shine?

This is how I am using it.....I actually got the idea from Macherieamour :yep:. Macherieamor's hair looks fabolous and she does it so......:perplexed. I have only done it for a few nights but I will let everyone know if it causes mega problems (doubt). I like the fact that it seals my hair LIGHTLY without having too much oil build up, I mean I already have enough oil from my scalp because of my precious Boundless Tresses. Why does everyone think it is such a sin anyway???

I never really have a need for oil sheen.

I used to use it before and when I first came to the board and I still own the small can of Kenra Silkening Mist that I bought a few years ago and fell in love with. (do they expire :look:) It is the little small one and I still have about 90% of the can left.

I did own a bottle of Profectiv Oil Sheen but ended up giving that one away because, again I never use them. I just thought I would try it since I like the relaxer from Profectiv.

Sooooo, with that said, I will have to say that if I ever felt to need to use one, I would reach for Kenra Silkening Mist. I never had any problem with it.

oooooooooo excellent idea you guys. I might try this way because when I rollerset I have been using healthy ends AND sealing with evoo, and I swear it takes my hair FOREVER to try. like the roots are always dry but the tips (the last little bit around the roller) takes FOREVER. airdrying isn't even an option anymore (i alternate between work & school everyday of the week). I was thinking that maybe the evoo was doing such a GREAT job and seals in the moisture SO WELL that my tips never dry. i might have to dig to the back of the cabinet and find that old bottle.

and sidenote: so no one uses black magic anymore? :lachen:

I haven't bought / used oil sheen in years.

SAME...but I decided to give them a try again.....and I noticed that Macherieamour uses them for her wraps. Didn't seem like a bad idea so why not?? Is it a crime or sin to use oil sheens? Are they as bad as mineral oil of blowdrying or something?? I mean if so please inform a sista

I have the Mizani oil sheen and I like it. I dont use it too often...maybe its time to put it back in rotation:look:

Co-signing on the Revlon Finisheen!! The shine from this is the best I've ever seen and I've used maybe 2-3 from that list, but this one is hands down for me!

I've found since I started caring for my hair that I don't need oil sheen. However, my hairdresser used to use ors and almost every hairdresser in brooklyn use it so....

I haven't bought an oil sheen in years. Once I discovered the Neutrogena serum, I used serums for shine and now light oils.

I really like Alternatives Oil Sheen, been using it for years.

ETA- I don't use oil sheens much anymore, I prefer serums.

I currently use Isoplus Oil Sheen...but i'm looking for a better one bc i hate the smell.

I was liking Mizani's oil sheen....but its been a while and i don't know if it would still smell the same....i LOVED the way it smelled!!

For some reason i can't use Olive Oil Oil Sheen bc it gives me rashes on my neck.....but that was when i was APL....hmmm

I wonder if it would affect me now?....since my hair rubs my back instead of my neck now?

I just want a good smelling oil sheen.
