Congratulations! Your hair looks lovely. Do you have a picture of your wash and gos? What do you do in winter? Thanks for sharing!

Thank you andre2000,

I still do my wash and gos. So I do not apply heat. The hair style from the pictures is a roller set with jumbo rollers and I sat under the hair dryer for a hour.

My hair is doing well with the texlax but you should do what you feel comfortable with.

I altered my reggie so I can wash everyday instead of weekly. I bought bunch of scarfs to wear too. I think this will be good for me.

you seriously gave me a boost of hope.....I am 8 months post BC and I was wondering how realistic it was to get to APL by year's end. I know everybody's hair is different and what works for you may not work for me. But is it great to see that it can be done!

your hair looks really beautiful!!!!!

Thanks for sharing your awesome 18 month progress. Beautiful and very inspiring!!!!

OT: I cut my hair to a twa back in Aug 2007 and went back relaxed 2 weeks later after the bc. Was not entirely ready you could say. I hope to be back Shoulder length or full neck by the end of the year at least. Your pics have inspired me. I just started doing daily washing again b/c it is getting a little warmer outside. Come on spring & summer!!!!

That's amazing progress and your hair is beautiful!
What's your wash and go process if you don't mind me asking??

Thanks in advance.

Hi blackbarbie,

After I wash and condition I use the Shea butter & Tea Tree Oil mosturizer, and apply the salerm 21 and Jamacian black castor oil and let air dry. I have to be at work at 8am and by lunch time its usually completely dry. I live in the south so the winters are not so bad and I can leave home with wet hair and not get sick.

Thank you ladies, ya'll are so sweet:yep:

I am going to copy and paste my regime from a previous post.......The only thing that has changed is I am now texlaxed. The longer my hair got the harder the detangling process was so I decided to texlax.

........................................................................
I wash and condition my hair daily. I only comb my hair in the shower under running water. I henna:love:, and I take my vitamins(MSM, Biotin, Flaxseed Oil pill). I also deep condition once a week.

My products that I cant live without are African's Best Tea Tree and Shea Butter Moisturizer, Jamican Black Castor Oil, Salerm 21, ORS Replinishing Pack, Dudley's Moisturizing Conditioner, QP Conditioner (I mix all three conditioners for deep conditioning) and I use Herbal Essences Hello Hydration conditioner for my daily washes.

You GO grl! That's great progress maaan! Hmm...washing everyday. I haven't been brave enought to go there lol

Tootuff,

While growing it out did you ever to trim your layers as they grew out? An area I want to trim blunt so bad is my neck length at the moment.

Hi Monigirl,

I have never trimmed my hair since the BC and I dont have layers it just how the curls fell.

I really dont see the need to trim because my ends are great. It maybe because I dont use heat or comb my hair that much except for in the shower. I also dont sleep with anything on my hair because that gave me damage for some reason. I have a satin pillowcase and thats all I use.

Thanks Tootuff, But I wasn't refering to your current hair length in the pics. I was refering to layers while you grew your hair out from the bc.
I have many layers after my bc.
Currently I have bangs, ear length and neck length hair. Have not cut it since the bc. Mine is growing out in so many layers.

Currently all my ends are healthy and strong. I don't use heat unless I am deep conditioning or rollersetting. Usually airdry and bun at the moment. But as my hair grows out the same length all over my head I am tempted to do a blunt cut.

Good to know you didn't cut as your hair grew back. Maybe I will do the same. Thanks again.
