Hi Songbird,

I get mine's from Whole Foods for around $8 but I have also heard that Vitamin Shoppe has it as well. It has good organic ingredients and really works well when used in moderation.

I warn you to use just a dallop because too much can weigh your hair down but it a pretty good leave in.

I bought it for less than $10 at Whole Foods. I was using it as a moisturizer and leave-in between washes. However, I was told by an Indian stylist to stop using it for the rest of my transition to natural hair. She said I don't need it. Otherwise, if I was to go back to relaxing, it would be a staple product for me. I think it is great moisturizer. Maybe I can use the rest as a conditioner, but rinse it out. HTH.

You noticed the rave too huh? LOL I got it myself just this past Tuesday at The Olde Wheat Barn. As for it's benefits, I can't say for everyone, but this is what I noticed when I tried it out.
1. I did it first on dry hair,(thanks al00fone), and it made it instantly moisturized, no joke!
2. I did a co-wash and put some on my wet hair for a leave in, to see how it does also. Same thing as #1 for me.
3. I also made it into a lil spritz mixed with S-Curl(thanks IntoMyHair) for instant moisturizing throughout the day when I'm trying out other products (still going thru trial and error) looking for good products that work with my hair.
I'm also going to try other ways of using it, since it's an 8.5oz bottle of the stuff for $8. But it's great for me.

I started 2 threads on this stuff, you can check it out here below:

This thread gave me other products I can try too besides the GD, since I was curious. HTH! :)

It detangled my hair pronto on dry hair. So much so that I was able to have a comb glide ALL THE WAY through my thick medium length hair!
Doesn't work well for me on wet hair.
And too much of it can make my hair crunchy.

Check your Walgreens store....our Walgreen's carries it, but it's not with the regular cons and shampoo. The cost was $8.

She said leave-ins are loaded with protein and "I" don't need that much. Actually, she told me to stop putting so much product in my hair unless I'm flat ironing. I initially sked her about henna and the conversation just changed. She told me to leave he henna alone as it is very drying. She asked me why I wanted to use henna and I asked her if it would stop my hair from breaking at the line of demarcation. She told me no and asked me what I was using in my hair. I told her CON shampoo and conditioner, a leave-in, and a serum. She said I had too much going on. I'm going to try her way for a month. I can say this, when I was getting my hair flat-ironed by my Aveda stylist, she would wash, condition, and use a serum. It didn't break and it thrived. When she decided to take a break from work, I started buying stuff to prevent the breaking and shedding, but now I'm dealing with them.

What you stylist said makes sense. I, too, believe that natural hair does not need that much on it but I fail to actually not put much on it :wallbash:. I seem to load my hair down for no reason at all. I wanted to try henna too but felt it was too much for me to deal with. Since going natural this time around, I am trying to limit my pj and get an effective regimen going. So far, I have not be able to do either :wallbash::wallbash:. Could you share with me your Indian stylist contact information, please? I noticed that the conditioners and leave in I am using are protein loaded, as well, and can see/feel the difference in my hair. My hair is definately in a protein overload. I had planned to go to the vitamin shoppe and look for a moisturizing, preferably protein free, conditioner for cw and a leave-in. Hopefully, I will be able to find one because I really need some moisture. I have been on the search for a moisturizing deep co that is all natural since going natural but have yet to find one and frankly am tried of spending/wasting $$$. I will look for one in the vitamin shoppe, as well.

Hmmm, I wanna try this but if its protein based maybe I should stay clear. I think my hair has enough protein for now. Thanks ladies. I'll probably order one bottle from the site ya'll were talking bout tho.

I highly recommend the giovanni direct line. Here's a link to what it looks like:

I'm in love with it!!!!:yep: I bought mine at whole foods for around $8 but this site has it for $5 and some change.:wallbash:

ETA: I didn't know it was protein-based because they stress that it's a moisture conditioner on the front. My hair normally hates protein but it loves this conditioner.:yep:

I just checked my bottle of leave-in and it does have a soybean protein in it. I don't know how strong it is. I'm not going to throw the bottle out, but I will only be using it for my flat iron and wraps. This is the only time I end up with short broken pieces of hair.

Tishee, my Indian stylist is named Misbah. You can check out her website below. I'll pm this info to you as well.
