I've read on here that continuous usage of Salerm can make the hair dry, and seen many rave about Giovanni as well as Lacio Lacio. Initially I thought I'd try Lacio Lacio but looks like it'll be Giovanni instead. Anyone have anything to add to this?

salerm makes the hair dry?! oh great.... i can't keep up here. First it's the best, then it's bad. See...that's why I don't like jumping on trends or bandwagons. Giovanni sounds good too, but I guess I'll have to wait a while to see the negative effects of that one too (if any do come up). :ohwell:

OT: this is another reason I'll keep staying on the sidelines for this mtg thing.

pssssst! go ahead and try the giovanni, ladies. :) It's really not a recent thing. It has actually been a staple in many members' regimens for years. It was one of the first things I read about and tried when I joined 2 years ago, and it has been a staple for me ever since :yep:

Giovanni can be found at the Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods, and many health food stores. The Whole Foods near us sells small samples for $1.99.

Just to let you know...I don't know which Whole Foods you are going to, but if you go to the Long Island store, the samples are near the registers where they have lip balm and other small items. :)

Hello Najaqueen,

I just had to say that even though Salerm has dried other people’s hair out doesn’t necessarily mean that it will do the same for yours.:) I have used Salerm for over a year now and actually find it to be moisturizing for me.

I like Giovanni, I use the Tea Tree kind, but then I only use this brand once per month because it really cleanses my scalp well. I like both brands and I'm glad that Cichelle mentioned the cheaper samples by Giovanni (which are the kinds I get from Wholefoods) that way you are not spending to much. However if your regimen isn’t broke (meaning that the Salerm is working for you) I wouldn’t fix it.;) Please let me know how you like the Giovanni.

Keep in mind what works for one person's hair may not have the same results for another person. Salerm works great on my hair. It is a protein leave in so that is more than likely the reason for the dryness (some people's hair doesn't like too muc protein).

I am currenly using Giovanni Direct leave in and have been for a while and I think it is GREAT. It makes my hair very soft and is great for airdrying in a ponytail.

As someone above mentioned you can get the sample for 1.99 at Whole Foods. This way you won't be stuck with a full size if you dont like it.

Looks like I'll try buying the sample at a Whole Foods store. i've found Salerm to be alright, but not good enough that I wont try something else :)

Giovanni Direct is great to my hair ! :) I love it. I have other leave-ins but there is a big difference in the way my rollersets turn out when I use Giovanni Direct !

I just bought a sample this weekend. I will be buying the full size from now on, it really did a good job on my thick hair.

Giovanni is wonderful!!! Someone was just raving about this a couple days ago...it's really phenomenal stuff! I very highly recommend it. It was cheaper than Rusk and it was 50 times better on my hair...HHG!
