I'm tryna figure out which is better. I'm not sure of the benefits between the two. Are they the same? Is one easier? Is one healthier for hair? I know one costs more but what are the true benefits.

Today I'm voting for curlformers. The hair isn't wrapped around itself which makes it dry faster. In addition you don't have to worry about creating enough tension to get you roots straight. (That's if you use them the right way!) I thinks will cause less stress to my hair because I not going to extremes to stretch my curly hair around a roller/rod.

The curlformers are easier to use for me. I just pull my hair through and it's literally curled. And somehow the curlformers straighten my roots whereas w/ the flexi's I have to roll all the way down to my roots to get them halfway straight.

Curlformers all the way...I tried to flexi rod before and I just could not get it right :nono:...Curformers does all the work for you and they are FUN to put in!!:yep:

The Curlformers make beautiful curls, but I couldn't use them on my thin hair. All of my hair would be gone I think! Anyone with thin hair use these?

I voted culrformers because I could never get the hang of those dern flexirods. They wouldn't lay right, stay tight :wallbash: ...but the very first time I used curlformers...I got curls!

Although I haven't used Curlformers yet, the biggest plus I could see to using these would be the fact that you could actually get a decent night's sleep in these as opposed to flexirods. Have you ever tried to sleep in flexi-rods? :wallbash:

Well, many of you ladies (yes, you lurkers too! :sekret: ) bought out all of the Curformers at the different Sally's I went to, so I don't know yet. I would like to try them on already airdried hair.

I bet your hair would be gorgeous! If I come across any, I'll send 'em to you! My Sally's had tons the last time I was there. They just look like they would pull my hair out! :lachen:

Yes, I have and they are not comfortable at all!!!

 Thank you January Noir and thanks for the offer! Sally's did reorder some but I hear you about pulling the hair out! However, before I buy any, I need to open it up and really take a look at them in my hands. :detective: It kind of reminds me of crochet or something.

I have relatively thin hair and I've used them. They work wonderfully but if you're careful with your hair (not yanking) it takes longer to get the strips in. But once your hair is dry, it is sooooo worth it.

BTW I like silver fox!!! hehe

It reminded me of a big latch hook.....:spinning:

Ms. Pat! Neighbor!
How was your weekend chica? I haven't been to that one just yet sister.
I was talking about the one in Piscataway by the WalMart :yep: Girl, I wish you could see me now! I have a halfway decent hairdo today! Getting ready to pin it up for bed!

i voted flexirods all the way. i just found out this weekend how to use the large rods (gray ones) to roll my hair and get the same results i'd get from using magnetic rollers.

plus i can sleep in them and they're comfy :drunk:

I have very thin hair and I just bought the kit. I am under the dryer as I speak doing a deep condish and then I am going to use the Curlformers. I will let you know tomorrow how it turns out. It can't hurt I think it will give me a bit more volume if it is curly. I will let you know....and if I can figure it out I will post pics.

Excellent LJewel! All of us fine thin ladies will be waiting. Good luck! :yep:

i agree with you, when I use flexi rods, my roots are so puffy

Uh, not quite. I thought I could sleep in them last night and it didn't work out as planned. I was yanking them out at 2 am cause I couldn't take it anymore. One wasn't dry and I had to put it back in. They were very close to my scalp, so maybe if they aren't so close you may be able to sleep in them.

I choose curlformers. I use them on my blow dried hair. I sleep in them and have beautiful curls by morning. They aren't uncomfortable to sleep in either. I also love the ease of putting them in too:yep: When putting the hook over your hair, you have to remember to twist your hair first so that you won't get any snags and you should be fine with the pulling your hair through part:spinning: I'm going back tonight (my Sally's re-uped on their stock today) to get more long and narrows! I can't wait!

I just bought flexi rods recently and used them on my head this weekend. I really like them. I also plan on buying the Curlformers sometime this year.

BTW, I got that deal on Ebay for the 288 rods, someone got in a bidding war with me and I paide 6.50, total of like 22 doll. or something like that. But I got like 100 flexi rods and over 100 little perm rods (will be good when it gets hot in the summer and I don't want hair on my neck).

I will use both flexi rods, curlformers, perm rods, normal magnetic rods and Carusos (depending on the look I'm going for) and I see no reason to have to choose. I liked my flexi b/c it gave me a tight set and the curls are up and out of the way. You can control the look of the curl (loose or tight, and that's real nice).

I'm 11 weeks post with 4a hair and I can def. see stretching with flexis in my future.

I also like the loose barrel curling ironed look of the Curlformers. And depending on which look I want, that's the one I will choose for that particular wash day.

I slept in mine too and didn't have a problem. I'm not a wild sleeper so it was ok. I just put a satin bonnet over top of them and was good to go!

Please enlighten me on how you did that. Did you do it on wet hair, what did you use, ect. Thanks!

I voted flexirods. I saw the curlformers a couple of months ago in sally's but i don't like the way your hair isn't curled all the way on the ends. Anyway, I've been using flexirods for years so i'm pretty good at them.

:yep::yep:Yep, and I didn't even put a bonnet over mine and they came out perfect!

Curlformers are ridiculously simple to use. I guess the reason that they cost so much is because all of the work is done for you.

I LOVE MINE!
