I'm working late today so I stepped out to get some brown people energy food (aka. fried chicken wing, breast, thigh and a side of greens in garlic and olive oil). Anyhoo, I was standing in line behind a tall white woman in a fur coat, leather gloves, and with long shiny blond hair.
At one point I had to say "excuse me" and move ahead because she wasn't standing to the side after making her order. I made sure to use my friendly Negro voice as not to startle her. Unfortunately, I was then shocked, disturbed, frightened, and led asunder by the reality of the situation. The back of her head was saying 20something perky blond, but the front (in all areas, features, tones, and manners :look:) was saying 4b jet black, black female. If I were older I could have had a heart attack from the surprise.

We have to implore people to racially identify themselves properly using appropriately chosen weave hair. If one has 2" of 4z jet black hair showing around their edges, then the following hair should not be attached. Has anyone else had this experience and what can we do to prevent this?

I had to stop and get some water. :lachen:

Girl, you are so right..... so right - that's just wrong. And yes, it is liable to give you a heart attack....

:lachen::lachen::lachen: I am laughing sooo hard right now!! My fiance just ran in the room to check on me!!! Goodness...I needed that laugh...:lachen::lachen::lachen:

prevent it? i doubt you can do that, my mom has to try to talk ppl out of it on a daily basis at her salon. id say mom only manages to convince 20% of the ppl who wanted the "call me european" weave to go for something more "natural" :perplexed

Oh my guudness!!(in my best shenaynay voice) that was the funniest thing I've read all day!:lachen:I'm mad at the "features, tones, and manners" part. Ooh chile, I needed that laugh.

:lachen::lachen::lachen: Now you know wasn't no white woman coming in that chicken place.

 @ the OP's story. I definitely agree. Some people sould not where blonde weaves(my cousin being one :nono:). I hate it when black people dye their hair a bright blonde color and then let their jet black roots grow in. I think they need to get a headband and cover those roots.

You'd be surprised!!! There's a place by me called "Big Mamas." Depending on the time of the day, white people will congregate in there with everyone else. I think it really depends on the area in which the soul food restaurant is in. This is sooo off topic.

Africa in the front, Sweden in the back!!!

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. When I see a 4b with a 1a phony pony. I always think...Africa in the front!!! China in the back!!!

What is so hard about matching hair textures!! Or even coming close???

ha! Bringin back those memories aiiirrgghht!

I'm thinkin Pam was the woman at the chicken shack!

There was a super conservative looking white guy standing to the side so I assumed that was her husband, in spite of the black child holding her arm. I figured she was an adoptive mother. The hair was that authentic! How was I supposed to know she was with the black guy sitting at a table

She had a healthy Negro aura going on in the face-torial region too. It was just so surprising. It's not to say we can't have butt length wet and wavy hair and lilac colored eyes, but the likelihood of a black woman having both butt length hair that screams Bangladesh India, in addition to 4z edges and violet eyes....

I can't believe you said that. I had a hair dresser friend of mine do that to my hair. He put platinum in and I caught a glimpse of myself in the salon window on the way out and snatched that weave out in the car.
