Any Natural 3C'S??????? Can I see your pics

I think I am 3b/3c, mostly 3c in the crown area. The whole hair typing thing confuses me.:grin:

I'm closest to what "they" classify as a 3C

I'm transitioning as you can see by my relaxed ends...

some have said my curl will get tighter once I cut

the relaxed ends off

Maybe you all can help me out.

I have always considered myself a 4b because I didn't have any defined curl pattern.

BUT

Lately, approaching week 11 in my stretch, I am seeing coils. In my crown it seems to be more of a wave up until you reach my crown roots, then its a curl. In other patches in my head I have some parts that still look 4b but others, when you stretch it slightly, you can see a defined curl. Atleast from what I am seeing now. I was planning on relaxing on March 10th at 12 weeks but from what I am gathering now, I will have to wait longer too really see what is going on.

I looked at my baby pics and I can't really tell now. I have NEVER noticed this before, it is throwing me off guard :perplexed I haven't done anything really different either. The only major difference in my regime is a weekly scalp massage with my Banyan Brahmi oil.

Could it be scab hair I am seeing that is looking and feeling like my patches of what I think is 4B and my true texture isn't exactly it?

3c is like the circumference of a straw or pencil and 4a is the size of like a coffee stirrer .My daughter has 3c 4a like me but in different areas. I didn't take a pic of her 3c which is in the crown of her head(unlike mine which is a majority of my head). The back and sides of her hair are 4a.Does your coil look at all like this pic of her 4a part?

My crown looks a little bigger than this but some of the patches do look more like this. My crown looks more wavy:ohwell: I really need to post some wet hair pics, maybe that will help you all help me. Thanks for posting that pic, that was very helpful.

see that right there is what throws me off. some descriptions say 3c goes from sidewalk chalk circumference to pen circumference, and 4a is from pen to coffee stirrer. well, my hair is pen-sized curls... so wth am i??? 3c or 4a??? :perplexed

hair typing sucks big toe... :lachen:

Oh really i thought the side walk chalk size was 3b? And yes it does suck!

Wow your hair looks a lot like mine when I transitioned!!! You are so patient!! I cut it abt 3 inches before where yours is!! GORGEOUS!!!
 
Here is the best I could get of her 3c. She is really hyper right now and she was screaming when I took it. lol. But this is it if you can see. And When It is wet or has condish on it, it looks alot like southertease and brockstar the 3c part that is. So I think yall are good descriptions of 3c. I also think the longer and heavier your natural curls get the looser it might appear.

Now my crown looks more like this. Interesting........When its wet it does stretch out a little and look more like a wave. This really has me thinking now

I'm in the same boat with ya girl. I don't know what type I am anymore! My natural hair/NG has more liek a wave to it too.

I am glad I am not alone :lol: My hair is freakin me out. I was just in the mirror looking like :spinning: Straight confused, especially since I still have 3 different textures in other spots.
 
I can't comment, I'm just in here to drool over all the 3c typed hair in this thread. So ladies post some more pics :grin: and I do agree hair typing is something too many people get caught up in, just love and care for what you have!
