My cap gets hot then cools for a few minutes, gets hot then cools.
Does anyone know of a brand that stays hot? Please let me know. TIA

mine stays hot....i've had it for 2 years but i noticed that it doesn't get as hot as when i first got it. i figured it would do that tho since i didn't spend that much money on it anyway

I just received my microheat cap. I have not used it yet, but I could let you know sunday if it stays hot.

I just got one of those cap and it stays warm for up to 30mins, just make sure you are not tempted to overheat it in the microwave or else the gel pockets explode.

I have the mastex heat cap...it gets hot and stays hot

I'm not sure, but I believe there is an element internally that will not allow the cap to remain hot beyond 30 mins (whatever the setting) because people have fallen asleep and injured themselves.

Therefore, most manufacturers 'attempt' to determine what is the maximum exposure before damage occurs and the device starts the cooling process.

I've had/had two caps, different vendors, and they've both cooled at a point. I just crank up to high for 30 secs, and then back down to medium and that restarts the medium heating setting.

I don't know if this is your case, but this was my experience.

This was the one I recently purchased and after 30-40 (not sure which) mins it's not as warm as it was after 5 mins. Once I reset (turn to high then back down to med) it returns to the medium heat setting.

I have the Gold n' Hot cap too. I've had it for 6-7 years. It gets hot and stays hot for as long as it is plugged in.

I have a Mastex also, it's an older model. I'm going to try to this trick. Thanks

The heat cap I have is one that my mom got when we were kids. It is over 20 years old, but does the job!

It is the Norjac brand.

I have the Mastex brand cap... It definitely cools down after a certain amount of time. You can feel the difference. I always use mine on HIGH... I'm also pretty sure that it's a safety feature, possibly to keep the heating elements inside the cap from overheating and/or malfunctioning, who knows? :scratchch

I used my microheat cap this weekend for the first time and it was pretty nice. No cords, no controls, just heat and wear!!!! This is gonna be great for traveling.
