My husband helped me texlax my hair last weekend.

I started on my own in the back middle and I was rushing trying to apply the relaxer within that first five minutes so that I could smooth it a lil and get it moving. He saw me working fast and came in to help. Well low and behold that man knows what he's doing! He was like "okay it looks like you have two full inches of new hair" (he doesn't know the term "new growth") "and the rest looks like you already got it last time". I said, "Yes baby, now can we hurry" (Cause I know that man wants me to relax my hair, not texlax). Anyways we went through the back middle, the middle middle, front, sides and then back. I rotate each time. We then proceeded to rinse in the sink with bottled water (which he held for me..aw) and then reconstruct, nuetralize, condition (deep) and then a final rinse with more bottle water (which he held for me).

I fell in love all over again.

Oh and I came out a little more straight than I wanted to be. But hey, I live in Charlotte now, it may be time to convert to relaxed from texlaxed...Ima see.

I just had to share, cause I'm so proud of my man. He knows hair is my passion. He said he doesn't know how anyone can do that yourself cause you can't see the back of your head. He said "I better help you with this from now on." Then he asked me when was my next touch up?

Aww that is so sweet. Its great to see a man play an active role in his woman hair regimen. Congrats. You are very very lucky. I can see your Hubby looking at that NG like a mechanical issue that needs tackling. LOL

Right now Im in the process of putting in kinky twists you should see my baby parting and separating hair. Men.. when they want to be can be wonderful creatures. we gotta love them.

That is SO beautiful that he helped you that way! You are a very blessed lady to have a man like that.

That is so nice, and I heard about another husband did his wife's hightlights for her and she was very impressed. That is so lovely:smooches: :love4:
:2inlove::heart2::kiss3::hug3::love2:

You gotta luv a man that loves his wife. Sounds like he is a definite keeper...:notworthy

I always said...it doesn't matter where this man is today if the following apply:
1) He loves & is 'committed' to God
2) He is smart
3) He is a hardworker

However, I always fall back on #1 as the love of God will compel him to be a better man equaling a better husband. He will always take care of his wife because he believes your needs come before his own.

Hope you gave him a big ole :kissing4:

This brought back memories...My Dad used to help my Mom with her hair....Rinse and wash out Relaxer...He even used to do her Roller Sets....

I'm not supposed to tell people but my hubby used to tighten up my tracks back in my weave days. He was tight too! LOL:lachen::lachen::lachen:
Im sworn to secrecy so dont tell anyone

Awwwww! Look at him calculating precisely how many inches of new growth you have! LOL!

Great to have another pair of helping hands huh?My husband helped me with my relaxer and i was severely underprocessed.Whenever,i had to explain it,he proceeded to inform people that the parts he did were nice and straight, but the parts i did were the underprocessed parts:rolleyes:

At least your hubby got it right:grin:

I'm sure you did. That is Oh So Sweet

My SO just helped me dust/trim and I NEVER let anyone other than my mom do it, but he actually did an EXCELLENT job. He also has rinsed out my relaxer before, but he told his mom that HE permed my hair :drunk: :lachen: Oh well, I love him anyway.

That is so cute. If I let my husband texlax my hair I would have relaxer in my brain. He is so heavy handed :lachen:

Wow! That is so sweet!!! I love when a SO helps you when you don't even ask. That is love!!! Dreamy!!!!

I wish I could get my DH to help me when it come to relaxer day. He gets too nervous :nervous2:when it comes to applying chemicals. My DH will only help me remove my braids & weave. (he is super fast at that, LOL!!) I can only imagine how fast he would be at applying relaxer to my new growth. :scratchch:grin:

That was so sweet of him...gotta love it. Reminds me of when my husband helped me take out my braids...lol. Men can be very loving and supportive. What a blessing to have. Congrats.

Girl, that's just adorable, he knew he was doing something right there. I think your story is just too cute. Makes me want to go home and hug my husband.
