I bought a bottle of Amla oil yesterday (and no it does not smell like circus animals) and after I got it home I read the ingredients (should have done that at the store but no matter) and what do I find..... but good old Mineral Oil!

I usually stay far away from the stuff because when I use it my hair immediately feels dry and scratchy. But I thought to myself, "Well others have been using the stuff with success so Ill give it a try". MISTAKE.

My hair is so dry its not even funny. Im so sad now because I just bought all this oil.... and now I have to toss the bottle. :wallbash:

*sigh*

This happened to me too. I ordered mine online. Does anyone know where I can get this oil online without the mineral oil?

My hair hates oils in general, but I find I can use them on my scalp. So, I only use the amla oil for scritching/scalp massages - just droplets on my finger tips, so I can avoid it touching my hair as much as possible. My scalp doesn't mind, so I'm going to use up the bottle with that (which, at the rate I'm using it, might take a year :lachen:) and stick to Bramthi Oil and Vatika Oil as add-ins to my conditioners/DC's, etc.....

What brand did you purchase? I have Amla plus by Emami and it doesn't list MO.

I do use the Dabur Amla due to the scent which I do like. The regular Dabur amla does give me skinny strands after a few hours so I'll use it with oils added only. I bought almond oil so I'll add amla powder to it to see the effect. Amla lite is not as bad. A member here did warn about the Dabur amla being mostly mineral oil.

I use Dabur Amla oil, and it doesn't contain any mineral oil. I buy it at the local Indian store. It looks like this (below) and the ingredients are: Paraffinum Liquidum, Canola oil, Glycerides, Amla, and canola oil extract.

Dont wanna bust your bubble, but for some reason I though Parafinnum was another sneaky name for Mineral oil...anyone else heard this?

Uh-oh. Well, my hair seems to like it. I didn't know that. I'll have to find out!

I use Amla as my oil rinse before conditioning. It works really well for me.

Don't throw it away, you can sell or trade it in the product exchange forum. (Your junk is another's treasure!!)

Did you get the stuff in the green bottle? The Darbur stuff? That stuff is so not the ish. My hair felt horrible. I had to condition it like ten times afterword.

Thank you! Now what can I do with this oil that I already have? :perplexed

I spilled some on my wooden floors and they shined up real nice:yep:

Just kidding, I wouldn't want you to damage your floors. I just don't know what to do with mine either. I think I'll give it to someone who doesn't mind mineral oil products. Good luck.
