Amla has WHAT????

I love my amla oil :love:and it is the Dabur one with mineral oil in it.. but my hair hasn't had any adverse effects from it. I only pre poo with mine though.. so it doesn't stay on my hair as a leave in... I just wash it right out!

I have the Dabur amla gold hair oil. It may or may not have mineral oil in it but I massage it into my scalp the night before I wash my hair and it works great that way for me. That's the only way my scalp can tolerate having oils on it is if I wash it out the next day.

Okay, I thought the oils were to be washed out as a pre-oiling treatment to washing with shikakai/aritha, so are you leaving them in like a daily oil?

I only use the oils (exception to coconut and vatika oils) as part of my prepoo before washing them out with conditioner or shikakai. If you are going to wash the oils out then the mineral oil content should not be a concern. However, the herbal oils that are free from MO and all its sneaky aliases should be great for leaving in.

So far, I use the Hesh brand of oils. The Hesh shikakai, amla and brahmi amla all have MO in them. I have had no problems, only awesome results!

If you like alma and don't want the MO you can make your own alma oil using whatever oil you want. :yep:

Thank goodness I can finally post...

I think I'm a bit so on this, but I wish someone would've put a warning out but....I DYED my stool!!

I have a beige upholstered stool and one day while applying Amla I got just a dab on the seat cushion and I can't get it out!! I've used everything I could think of (making a paste of Comet, dilluted bleach, laundry detergent paste, baking soda) and its still there, a little less noticable but its still there. I stained my floor with henna, but it eventually came out. What can I do?

That is one I have. I ordered it and my Brahmi and Bhringjai oil off both with no mineral oil either off of amazon. On amazon, the Brahmi and Bhring. oil are from a company called Bayan. I really really like them. My other two are in a seasame and coconut base.

Thanks! If I ever use up the oils I have, I will buy some.:yep:

pssh thats very strange!

mineral oil only has issues when applied to the scalp

did you apply it to wet hair?

dry is best

what did you have on your hair before it?

also you're meant to wash it out....

I recall another member posted how a lot of indian products have mineral oil and SLS in there shampoos and claim to be an herbal product.

Check and Check. I applied it to dry hair right before I went to bed, and shampooed it out the next morning. My hair felt like straw.

Im not sure what the deal is on that..... but I dont like it, and I wont be using it again. :nono:

yeah sorry peeps, we are going to be testing a new hair oil herbal blend and have it by Fall 2008. Yeah amla oil has the light liquified paraffin but look forward to using bases such as coconut oil, sunflower oil etc...suggestions are more then welcome as to what oils you'd like to see blended. This will be from India so take into consideration their herbs.
