i never have. and it always took longer to dry. in the end i had to either blow the roots out or flat iron. however, this was years ago. i no longer wet wrap my hair HTH :)

They come out best on freshly relaxed hair. It isn't going to get all the way flat with new growth. You'll still have to straighten the roots.

If I use aloe Vera Gel (after applying my leave ins), then use a paddle brush to smooth it out, I get good results. :yep: I know that prolly isn't conventional and some may frown on it, but it works out for me and my hair really likes aloe vera.

This is interesting because, pre LHCF, all I ever did was wet wraps :look:

However, considering I only went to 8 wks post they came out ok around week 8 - not great but not bad.

Yes, it was a little 'fluffy should I say' in the top and around the edges, but because this was all I knew - this was all I knew.

Honestly, I never got any more in my comb while wrapping on week 7 in constrast to what I got in my comb on 1 week post :ohwell:

Shame on me because all I ever put in my hair to wrap was infusium :spinning: :nono:

Yes. I find the best way to get the kinks out is to roll the hair up, not down. So, your curls will come out with a flip. Wrap the hair around you head for a few minutes or with saran wrap. Voila!

I tried this a few days ago (11 wks post). I looked a HOT mess. :lachen:I used a paddle brush to smooth it, but my ng was still unruly and very poofy. And it took what seemed like forever to dry. IMO wet wraps are waaayyy better on freshly relaxed hair. :yep:

thanks..ive tried it before.. and i was okay but never fully straight ..i guess that because i dont know hwo to wrap that great and ur hair has to be really straight in order to avoid tangling..... i know some ppl use foam wrap.. does that help detangle ...?

I do the wet wrap with saran wrap. I find for my new growth is to oil my new growth. I use castor oil, olive oil, cococunt oil and vitmin e oil. I massage my scalp and leave on for about 15 min, then rinse well use my wrap lotion and wrap sit under the dry for about 5-10 mins depending on hair length then I saran wrap and sit for about 15-20 min. MY hair has come out smooth and shiney. I have tried this 3 times and it has worked every time. The oils loosen my curl pattern of new growth and make it more managable.

so you wrap your hair wet and then ptu the saran wrap over it?

I've done this on my natural hair, but the best way for it to come out smooth for me is to wet wrap on let's say Friday night, tie down with a scarf and leave it until monday morning:ohwell:

During my relaxed era, the below product is what I used on my hair even up to 10 weeks post relaxer and my wraps still came out looking great. Don't know why I didn't go natural seeing that I could go for longer periods of time without needing to have a fresh relaxer. But for my wet sets, all i had to do was wash my hair and then comb this product into my hair, and saturate the roots and then take my wide tooth comb and just comb it through my hair and just start wrapping the hair the way i want it to go. Once finished wrapping then I would put a quarter size amount in palm of my hands and smooth it out over the top of my wrap before i secured it with some pins and then finally a doo-rag. Came out perfect everytime. But after joining this site, even though this product was good for my hair, it's not actually my friend, becuz it has parabens in it, and I've been under the impression that cones, sulfates and parabens are not good. :(

I did just this past Friday! I am 10 months post, and the back of my head is a curly beast. But I had a stylist do it, and she did a nice job. She used those crepe paper things to hold my hair. The whole process from wash to out the door took about an hour. She did do some blow drying and flat ironing of roots after I sat under the dryer.

If you are in south Austin or North San Antonio, I'll give you her number. :)
