Since we all use alot of the ayurvedic oils and so forth have any of you ladies tried any other products? I am in love with the Safi(it's a blood purifier in a tonic like form) It's great for skin problems, lethargy, basic all around body cleanser. I also Neem Himalaya tablets my daughter uses for her mild acne,Vicco skin cream has a very herbal smell but good for skin prblems as well,Navratna Oil I use for aches and pains and is a very invigorating hair oil(it has a eucalyptic sting to it) I used this particular oil warmed up 3 years ago with a very sprained ankle and the pain dissipated within days so much so I could lighten up on the synthetic meds the doctor prescribed. Medimix soap is sooo great it's for body odor, skin probs you name it..and ony $1.49 a bar(Agreat soap for that time of the month...kills all odors. It puts all feminine hygiene washes to shame).

Great info!

I want some of the Navratna oil & Medimix soon!

Going to look it up now...

Thanx!!!

I am really feeling Bhringraj oil. It really does cool my scalp at night and its "the king of herbs" . Its supposed to help with sleep but I don't have a problem sleeping anyway. Ms. Cocoface's Fotki has a very comprehensive guide on alot of Ayurvedic herbs. I also have been trying a bar of Chandrika Ayurvedic Soap. Surprisingly, this is the one bar soap that doesn't leave my skin dry and tight like every other bar soap I ve tried on my face, body or hair. So far so good. Im gonna use my Aritha and Shikakai soaps to perfume my bathrooms.

Hi candygirl got the pm. that's me.

a lil list of the things i use.
Amla powder controls premature grey and fall, helps with scalp infections, and gives hair growth
Shikakai powder strenghtens hair roots, gives bounce and shine, clears dandruff
Brahmi powder helps with sleep, gives dense hair and darkness
Aritha powder helps give a natural hair wash. also for bathing. i wash my 22k gold in it.
Kalpitone powder helps darken hair. strenghtens roots, helps with premature grey, relieves headaches and gives sound sleep
Neem powder i use every now and again on my hair. since i don't have dandruff. i use it on my face along with Multani mitti and orange powder to control oils. I will purchase it in pill form for a friend who suffers from acne all the time.
Tulsi another antibacterial powder which helps with dandruff. it also moisturizes the scalp. Also if taken in pill form it helps with a cold and cough. my lil one uses this.
Meera Gold hair wash powders. love this stuff.
Mehendi for hair strength and color. this time i am going to buy beets for a burgandy color.
Mustard oil for hair stimulation and massage
Lal Dant for my teeth.
Vatika oil for my hair. used to use the shampoos but they have SLS like commerical shampoos. let it go.

there is so much more. but i have to run now. thanks for reading. sorry it is long.

Om Tat Sat.

@ bold. I saw and purchased this yesterday. I noticed it was made with Coconut Oil and that was it... SOLD! My cousin said her husband uses Safi. I may as well. Im still researching it... any thing else you'd like to add to your review?

Rose powder for hair & skin.

I've reading and researching as well. So many of their products are great for the skin, I'm looking for one I should try on my daughter's eczema. Poor thing as been suffering from this since she was 7 months old and she's 5 years old now. Its much better, but the winter season is harsh, please let me know what's worked for anyone with extremely dry skin.

Thanks!

Hi i don't want to set off an alarm but i remember some years back they recalled Safi because of its high lead content. They band it in Canada which i am sure someone somewhere was selling it. Just be careful. their are some so called "ayurvedic" companies out there who are not reputable. When it comes down to ayurvedic i ingest. i only use Himalaya.

Now Medix Soap is fine.

I use keshavardhini oil, its great when mixed with coconut or Jojoba oil. I use it to seal in moisture. It gives me thickness. I lve the smell (some may not like it) like Ginger and cherries.

I use as great herbal fairness soap with pearl dust in it. Can't think of the name right now though. Looked at the Medimix & Sandalwood soap and talked my self out of it. Want to try the Godrej permanent black hair color. Taking Triphala supplement now and about to start 'brewing' bhringraj tea from the dried stems I received.

hi. Well first don't use soap on her. i think cetaphil isn't "soap" or use dove. avoid bubble baths too. or use Dove's body wash.
Now for a lil ayurveda. Get some tumeric"haldi" in hindi and some sesame oil "til" in hindi. make a paste of that leave for 1/2 hour. do this b4 her bath. like stated b4 dont use soap. you can purchase neem cream. sometimes that is hard to find here. you may find neem oil. first time do a 2:1 ratio with sesame. more sesame oil first. just to see how she reacts to it. if she is fine reverse it or just use neem oil strait. when the summer comes do the same but use neem powder and make a paste.
If you can find neem cream or lotion that is fine. or drop some neem oil in unscented lotion. perfumes are not good either.

Which one do you use and from where? I got one but there is no cooling effect and I heard it ssuppose to do that!

Hi. back again. I try to use mostly everything ayurvedic. unfortunately all isn't.

i use a herbal anti suntan face pack "ayurvedic" in the summer. i can't stand having lighter legs and darker arms and face.
i also use fair and lovely soap and face creams. i use it as sunblock and i don't change complexion. Last year i started using Lotus products it was good too. Now they advertise fair and lovely as to save u from being dark. dark is bad bad bad. LOL you can't be dark and in a few weeks be fair. BS but it does help even out ur skintone. and it is a nice Sunblock and sunscreen.
also in the summer i use medimix soap, chandrika, and a soap that has a tumeric and neem mixture.

Winter for now i use mysore sandal Gold soap and sandalwood soap by dabur. himalya soothing body lotion for dry skin. i don't venture out much in the winter. don't like the cold at all.

for make up that is ayurvedic i use mumtaz kajal

I have multanni mitti powder, neem powder, amla powder, shikakai powder, tulsi powder and aritha powder. I use the neem powder, tulsi powder and rhassoul clay for facial masks. I use the others for my herbal tea rinse and to mix in with my henna. I love them all.

Hi sorry i took so long. i've had some trouble with the site.

Anyway, yes i have a better alternative. Purim by himalaya. it is a detoxifier. or Neem Churna by Badiyanath. churna loosely means powder. this is the stuff you ingest.

Errrrrrrr!!!! Thanks for the alarm. It works so well though.I'll have to cut that one loose and find something else equivalent.

I also use Chyawanprash..it tastes like a some kind of raisin paste or a thicker version of apple butter but much more intense with spices. It's an antioxidant (builds a stronger immune system). You can ingest it with milk, hot water or spread it on bread. I take a spoonful straight and chase it with milk.It goes for $4.99 a jar.
