I've been lookin on this board for that questions for the LONGEST but I dun quite understand. What's the purpose of serum and how do you use it?!

Lawd I promise I'ma type up all my slow newbie questions and turn it into a proposable sticky!! I CAN'T be the only slow one lol

Chi silk & Bio silk serum gives hair shine & strength, offers heat protection, and helps prevent reversion after flat ironing.

ETA: You can use it on wet or dry hair. I like using it after airdrying or before blowdrying/flatironing. It only takes a little (dime-size).

^^^^What she said about the shine, strength and prevention of reversion. It will give the hair a gloss without weighing it down and your hair feels like silk. Also tames flyaways as well. An all around sleek appearance for the hair.

Also it can be used for rollersets. I use serum, a leave in conditioner and water to rollerset my hair...along with other ladies on this board...and it gives great rollersets...:yep:

Ditto to what everyone else said! Also, some serums help provide slip because of the cones in them. I love to use a serum to seal in my leave-in conditioner. It's much lighter to use than using an oil. I only use oil on my dry hair. I HATE oil on my wet hair. HTH!

neat-o i didnt think serums could be used to seal! now i can use my ion silk drops for something else besides flat ironing!

This about sums it up.

I love serums.
