As a self-proclaimed Kinikakes fotki expert - she updates every 3 months - her last updates were in October so her updating in January is right on time.... :grin:

I was so stunned into disbelief that I had to check. Here's Kini's announcement:

Aww, man!! Well, maybe she's ending the updates b/c she'll have met her goal by then. I hope she'll still post here sometimes. I love her hair. She's my fine-haired inspiration :grin:
 
Yes I agree she is sooo inspirational, with a great personality, and soo helpful....she will be missed...
 
Noooooo!!!!!!!! This can't be! Kini, please don't stop updating your pics. You've been an inspiration to many of us on here, don't take that away from us. Why must you do this to us?!?

Her hair is so pretty and her hair is truly an inspiration to me. :)

I second that...she represented for us fine haired chicks...i'm surely gonna miss her and that beautiful hair.
 
I was like Ohhhh Noooo :nono: when I saw it and I scanned the forum to see if there was a thread about it but there wasnt so I was like no one must have noticed it
Hopefully Kini will see this thread and come in and give us some closure:violin:
 
I am so bummed! She has been such an inspiration for me and I always look so forward to her updates. She is such an encourager and has such a sweet postive attitude and she is beautiful to boot. Kini, I respect your decision for whatever reason it may be. I wish you the very best and I am truly saddened, but thankful for all that I have gained and gleaned from you. :sad:
 
:sad:I will miss her updates. Thanks to her I tried Nacidit-staple for life! and encouragement to keep my ends protected. She has given us much inspiration and an example to follow.I can imagine with her phD and career, she might not have much time.
 
What is this? At first when I saw the word "Kini" I thought "Not Kinikakes". But then as I read on I knew it was her. I feel bad. I liked looking at her fotki. Without her, I wouldn't have found out about henna. Her beautiful hair is what made me try it. At least her album will still be open. Maybe she'll still reply.
 
I can understand her not wanting to update her fotki anymore since she's probably reached her hair goals and then some, but I hope she doesn't leave LHCF and will check on us from time to time.
 
Aw, maaaaaaaaaaan. Kinikakes was my very first inspiration when I started my hair journey and she still is my number 1 inspiration today! It hurts my heart that she won't be updating anymore! I would LOVE to see how long her hair gets. My hair is also thin and she showed me that I could grow my hair long and beautiful! Hopefully she will see this thread and see how many people she is influencing and will maybe reconsider to giving us at least 1 or 2 updates a year. :ohwell: :::Off to stalk her fotki:::
 
While I enjoyed her updates, I do understand. I mean once you reach your goal and know how to maintain your hair then its ok to move on to other things in life. She is being kind enough to leave her albums open to help others with what she has learned. I dont need an explanation because its her life and I did not expect her or anyone else on this forum or that has an album on fotki to do it forever.

It seems like there is a lot of pressure put on certain people/their hair/their updates and I'm sure those people want to inspire, inform, support...etc. But I'm sure that can get so tiring after while.

I'll miss her albums and her siggypics, lol.

But if she's happier this way...good for her and best of luck!
 
Awwwwwww, you guys!!! :ohwell: Im not leaving the forum. No way, no how!!! :grin: You guys, collectively, have taught me EVERYTHING i know about hair. Thru LHCF, i literally went from this:

to where i am today. (LOL, i just love showing this pic, cuz i still cant believe that was my hair not so long ago). So no girls, i am so not leaving the board!!!! :grin:

I did plan on making January the last set of pics though. The reason being is simply that it has gotten really difficult to take my pictures every 3 months. I mean, in terms of finding a photographer. Trust me, i love more than anyone my progress pics!!! I get sooo excited when the 3 month period arrives, so i can see how things have been. But its gotten progressively harder to find a photographer. Folks just arent available, or arent patient, and it has just become increasingly more difficult and stressful. I thought about maybe switching to every 6 months instead, and i may still do that.... but i realize the every 3 months thing was too ambitious. I kept it up this past year because i had already committed to it. But ive had to jump thru some hoops to get ppl to do it, you know? So i figured with the new year i would make January the last set. I dunno....... i enjoy my updates so much i may just reconsider. But as it stands, i think January is it.

In terms of locking the album, that's just me being paranoid about my patients discovering it. As you all know, Im a psychologist.... and for anyone who has ever been in their own therapy, just imagine what it would be like to be cruising the net and discover pictures of your therapist, half nekkid!!! :perplexed Although his/her intentions may be non-sleazy and fully noble, it still would be weird/inappropriate/awkward/unprofessional/etc. And god forbid my co-workers stumble into it. Equally as humiliating. :blush: So yeah, locking the album is just my attempt to keep my private life just that.

In terms of my absence around the board, thats only temporary. I will be back around mid-december, after my dissertation defense. I defend on December 12 and so ive been super busy and stressed preparing for that this past semester. *sigh* Butterflies in my stomach as i type.

Okay ladies, so thats the update!!!!! Love you guys!!!
