What are your needs? Need more moisture, more protein? A balance?
I love Joico, and the reason I am loyal to it is b/c every product (even the moisturizing line) has human hair keratin protein, and their focus is on reconstructing the hair and reversing/repairing/preventing damage, which is what I need as a fine haired relaxed head. My natural curl pattern is super tight, so the relaxer has to break down a lot of bonds to get it straight, so reconstruction is key for me.
I've also used Paul Mitchell, Keracare, Design Essentials, Kenra, and others, so I have lots of reviews for ya![]()
ITA I luvvvv KenraMy recommendations would be Kenra, Aveda & Nexxus (Phyto Organics).
IKenra & in my opinion it's the best moisturizing conditioner (for my hair).
I really like the Nexxus Humectin conditioner as well. It's very moisturizing but not as good as Kenra.
Aveda is good too but this line doesn't have a deep penetrating moisturizing conditioner (IMO). So I use the DR treatment & conditioner only if my hair needs a boost of protein which is typically every 2-3 weeks.
I love Joico. The KPAK Line and the Silk Results lines are both awesome. They make my hair sleek and moisturized without weighin it down. When I dry without heat my hair lays flat as though I have applied heat.
Are both of these moisturizing products? Which would you recommend for protein?
My favorite is Kerastase. Kerastase leaves my hair shiny, healthy looking, strong and protected. My hair is very fine, fragile, tends to frizz and tangles easily. Kerastase was the first line that made my hair healthy and gave me great style. It does have a lot of silicone in the products, so if you don't like cones, you probably won't like this brand.
My second fave is Frederic Fekkai though I'm not sure if this is considered a salon brand.

Fekkai is like top-top shelf salon brand. Kerastase too. You like them expensive thangs, huh?![]()

The Kpak intense hydrator is supposed to be the TRUTH...I haven't used it yet but I will have it by next week.
They have a moisturizing conditioner too; a thin version for normal-thin hair and a thicker "balm" for thicker hair.
Joico also has great serums. Right now you can go to their site and request a sample.
What have you heard about this here intense hydrator?
I saw Joico prod. at Marshall's a couple weeks ago.
The Joico K-pak line is really good for a balance of moisture and protein each week. There is the K-pak Intense Hydrator for your deep conditioner, and when you need a protein treatment, you can use K-pak reconstructor.
The K-pak shampoo and conditioner are both moisturizing but they still have protein in them so that there is a balance, but not enough to cause an overload. I jokingly refer to the K-pak line as a "poor woman's Aveda DR", but it's so much more than that.![]()
