Is the sealing done on wet hair and air dried?
Wet hair then blow dried?
OR
Dry hair before heat styling?
I guess I'm looking for the best time to seal my ends.

I seal usually after cowashing where i'm not flatironing my hair. I apply all my goodies then slather on my coconut or castor oil focusing heavily on my ends.

I don't use heat (except when i get a touch up) nor blow dry. It's done on dry hair. If i shampoo that day i apply my moisturizing leave in then when the hair is done air drying i apply ors olive oil. Some ladies apply the leave in on wet hair and then seal, from root to tip or only on the last 2-3inches of hair shaft. Experiment and see what works for you.

For me,
(don't know if this is considered sealing but )
*on wet hair every time I apply a cream leave-in (moisture) and sometime i will lightly seal with an oil or simply use a heat protecting serum to seal (it works fine for me); if I use a heat protecting spray I will use a little oil.
*on dry hair before heat styling, I prefer not to use anything and risk "cooking" it on my hair. I will apply a heat serum at this point.
*if airdrying, i do the leave-in and the oil and sometimes I have to repeat again when my hair is 50% dry. When my hair is 100% dry I use my daily moisturizer. My hair is naturally dry so it soaks it in. It only does that with airdrying and if I'm not careful the dryness will lead to brittleness and breakage so I don't prefer airdrying even though its suppose to be healthier.
*I also moisturize and seal nightly using a cream moisturizer and an oil. The duo I've been working with for a while now is BB's Castor Oil in the Jar followed by BB's 10 in 1 oil. Works for me.

I seal my ends after applying my leave-in after washing and nightly after moisturizing. My faves for sealing are JBCO and coconut oil.

I usually use some BB Castor oil hair lotion, ORS olive oil cream, or HE Leave in conditioner on my ends and then use a little castor oil and rub it mostly on my ends. Castor oil is thick and sticky so it doesn't take much.

when washing i use a lil bit of raw shea oil and apply all over my hair. i'll also use castor oil on my ends. i think it does better on wet hair for me.
on dry hair before i wrap..i'll moisurize with whatever, then seal with olive oil or coconut oil. i'll twist my hair while putting the oil on. i find that easier than just slapping it on.

if I intend to use heat or do corn rows so I can get beach waves. This serum creates better waves than the one below and is a bit thicker but not too thick.

if I intend to just air dry. This is a thinner serum but gives great slip and works find for air dried hair/hair styles without heat.
I've used oils like olive oil, etc. They tend to penetrate my hair and make it feel heavy. I don't like that but I know it works for others. My face scalp is naturally oily especially when it gets warm so that may be why.

I usually use Olive Oil cream moisturizer on my ends and then seal with coconut oil. I have to use light oil to seal because with using a cream and then an oil my thin hair will just be so lifeless.

ORS - Olive Oil Cream Hair dress. In a green jar. Found it on Amazon. I really like it - but only use a small amount and then seal with coconut oil.

If my hair is freshly washed, I seal with an oil blend (usually my own): grape seed, coconut, jojoba, apricot kernel or any variations of.
On dry hair I either use a butter such as Qhemet Aethiopika Hydrate & Twist Butter, Oyin Burnt Sugar or any blended butter I can get my hands on.

Qhemet Aethiopika Hydrate sounds good!! Is that only online or in BSS? I need to look into blended butters.

Its great stuff; the cetyl alcohol in it makes it super moisturizing for a butter.
I got it from a swap, there are no BSS (at least in my area) that has it.
