I was in the mall today, and was picking up my MSM (switched to powder form because it's cheaper and there is more) And some oils for my hair.

I was in the GNC for ages deciding which oil one to get... YIKES!!

Anyway.....

Search function isn't working, so for the naturals, state what your hair type is, which oil you use on your hair the most and how do you use it?

TIA.

I voted other; melted shea butter (shea butter oil) is the only oil that doesn't feel like it just sits on my hair. I mean, after I use it my hair feels incredibly moisturized and soft.

I use both coconut and evoo a lot. I use both on my scalp and as hot oil treatments. My hair type is mostly 4a.

My hair doesn't like oil alone--it needs to be mixed with a butter or conditioner. My hair seems to like olive, avocado, and castor the most.

Castor Oil is the best to use on the scalp for growth, thickess, moisture, and scalp health

right now I use sweet almond oil on my hair

jojoba was great too!!!!

My hair is mostly 4a/b and I use EVOO when I deep conditioner and coconut oil as a moisturizer. I have heard good things about castor oil and plan to try that when I run out of coconut oil.

Wow, I use all of the oil listed. I use Castor oil in the winter because it is so heavy. Jojoba in the summer, I use both for edges and ends when I baggie. I mainly use coconut for my body. EVOO I usually mix it in with my conditioners and use it as a base for my own mixes. I haven't used Vatika oil in a minute because the store I got it from stopped selling it. Amla oil use it as an overnight treatment and I put it in my spritz sometimes.

Oh yeah, I am a 4.

Ok I just washed my hair, and I've using a mix of my castor oil and leave in to do bantu knots, and so far so good.

I'll see how my ends look tomorrow.

I wanted to try coconut oil, but it's so damn expensive.

I've tried jojoba oil and that was decent.

I don't really know what type I am... 4b, maybe I cnapp

*shrugs shoulders*

I use multiple oils listed so I choose "other". I love castor oil, coconut oil, shea butter, hot six oil. Whatever I have on hand as long as it doesn't have mineral oil or "cones" I'm good! Except evoo, my hair REALLY hates that!

Coconut and vatika. They work best on my hair in combo with a natural butter like avocado or hemp seed.

One time I ran out of oil and couldn't just right then get out to the health food store. I bought a bottle of Africa's Best Ultimate Herbal Oil at the CVS. It was the only one that didn't have cones or some other junk in it. The first ingredient is soybean oil, so I wasn't expecting much. I was surprised how well it worked, even alone. No crunchies. I use it only when I don't have anything else though.

Thank you ladies!

I have to make sure I have something to really protect my hair, because I'm swimming everyday now...

:perplexed

I'm not natural i'm relaxed but my hair loves coconut oil... i just had to peak in here though to see what the natural ladies love too.

I voted castor oil but use, Vatika oil mixed with shikakai powder on my scalp daily, I seal with castor oil or add to conditioners and use Amla as a hot oil treatment once every couple of weeks...

I voted other because I mix different oils (castor, olive, carrot, red palm, almond, coconut,....)

My faves are jojoba oil, evoo, coconut cream, avocado oil and sweet almond oil. I use jojoba oil almost daily on my scalp and ends; it's been a lifesaver for my itchy scalp and has really helped with split ends.

I just started using Keo Karpin. It's another Indian oil that's cheap but it smells way better than Vatika. I found that oils work best when I flat iron my hair. But when I wear my hair curly, it loves shea butter.

I don't know what my hair type is... it is a little of everything, but castor oil is doing my hair wonders.

You forgot one answer. ALL OF THE ABOVE.

Depending on what I am doing I can and have used them all.

I use them different ways for my hair.

In my daily hair spritz
In my hair teas
In my conditioners
In my shampoos
For my oil treatments
For sealing the ends
For my scalp massages

All types of ways.

I also use other oils too. Almond, emu, lemon, lemongrass, red palm, avocado, peppermint, etc. This list goes on. Many of these I use on my skin and some on my face.

a combo of all of them whipped in shea butter. i can only use plain oil on my scalp w/protective styles. otherwise my hair don't like it!:nono:
