Hey every one I'm a 3c with a small amount of 4a in the crown. Even though I have a relaxer when I airdry my hair I have loose curls on the edges of my nape.

3c here!!!!
I am Looking for my hair twin, and I am also a newbie!

mainly 3c with some unruly texture in the front.
the front will behave if i slick it down with gel and some form of Moisturizer
very dense hair but strands are fine
frizzy, dry and cottony
extreme shrinkage
well defned curl pattern in all sections but the front, not sure if that is due to lack of moisture and or the need to keep my hair in a ponytail for control

I looked @ your album and to me it looks like you're 3b. Anyhow what are you looking for help with? Maybe we can give some suggestions if we knew what you're having trouble with.

patiently waiting for help.:grin::grin::grin:

since my hair is more of a wave than a real curl am i still a 3? i know it's somewhat frizzy, i do know that much. i don't have them good hair roots they get dry as all get out. my hair is something totally different if the roots are left to airdry.:lachen::wallbash::spinning:

I am pretty much a type 3...and i have waves..
I mainly do twistouts. when i had relaxed hair i still had to put alot of heat to make it straight.

way hey about time!!!

my advice/support

less product is more!

i just cant use alot of stuff

and scurl is a murderer for my hair

absoloute rubbish for me

Hi! From the way you described your hair and looking at your pics, you might be my hair twin :yep:. I too question my hair type. It does get curly but most times it's wavy without any defined curls and usually dry and sometimes frizzy.

bumping...need help...I am relaxed and I want to start washing my hair on my own, airdrying ,then flat iron...how many of you ladies already do this? how many tried and failed? thanks in advance for the responses:yep:

3c here, hello everyone! I am 22 weeks post texlax, hovering around the bra strap and have 2 daughters that have C-type hair.

I had the same issue. That is one reason I decided to go natural. I figured what was the point of if my hair still wasn't straight afterwards.

i'm exactly the same way, i thought it was just something i was doing wrong but my hair never really takes to relaxers. it loosens the curls but it's pretty much still just curly after a relaxer and never bone straight. i've even had extra strength relaxer (way back in the day before i was really caring for my hair) and it still never took. i have a pic in my fotki album of my relaxed hair wet, you can def still see curl pattern.

Checking in as well. 3cish

Transitioning- I am discovering that my transitioning hair gets just as smooth/unsmooth :look: using the exact same techniques as freshly relaxed hair- for that, what is that point in having a relaxer. Result = a year into transitioning.

hey im in im 3c/4a. My natural hair is soft but not too soft and in certian areas around the nape that is where its kinda rough thats 4a, but mostly 3c. Im relax. I use dark and lovely no lye kiddie perm. i don't perm my hair that often. I try to stretch it out by flat ironing or getting blowouts

Patiencevirtue: I started doing my own hair shortly before I transitioned. It worked out well. My hair didn't look any less than having it done by my old stylist. My regular ol’ Jilbere Porcelain Series flat iron from Sally's did the trick. I must say though if I knew then what I know now, I would have used some heat protector and not set that thing to the highest level . Luckily my hair survived it all. It can definitely be done:yep:.

Do you use glycerine? I find that it makes my curls pop like crazy. I don't like S-curl or others like that anymore but I added some glycerine in my water/peppermint oil mix before applying my moisturizer and I'm hooked :yep:. Oh, I bought the NOW brand pure vegatable glycerine.
