I've had this brush for a year and it hasnt pulled out one strand of my 4a/b thick, course, natural hair. I use it on wet and dry hair and I cant sing enough praises for it. Ol Cathy dont know what shes talking about on this one. Its the only brush I use and I wouldnt be able to detangle my hair without it.
The only hairs that come out are the shed hairs when I use it.Wow, I have had it a week and it has about 5 or 6 hairs in it already.![]()

Mine too, girl!it's my precious![]()
Ditto. I never see any broken hairs in my Denman. I only use it for detangling in the shower with a head full of conditioner. It's the only brush that gets down to the roots and completely detangles.
I swear by my Deman...it made co-washing possible for me![]()
No thats not it. This is how it looks. Is this the Denman brush that is being referred to?
As soon as I think I've learned enough to put it all together into a good reggie, I find something new.Yippeee!
I have never seen that model. The D3 or D9 is the one I think everyone is referring to. I don't know how to post pictures so I can't show it to you. Sorry. Is this the Denman brush that is being referred to?

I feel the EXACT same way!I dont think that I could be natural without a Denman brush...and that is the truth! I heart my Denman...thats my #1 staple! I use it like the other posters have said to detangle and remove shed hair.
I also use a soft boar bristle brush for smoothing but I try to keep that to a minimum and only use light strokes.

I don't use brushes, but this is my take on it. If you are natural, brushing can be a helpful part of your regimen, but if you are relaxed it is not.
Relaxed hair is more fragile and brushing can be detrimental.
It also depends on your hair type as well.

Please dont try the knock off! Invest the couple extra dollars. It definatley worth getting.Seeeee. This is interesting. I have a routine of combing my hair with successively smaller toothed combs to try (note, I said TRY) to get all the shed hairs out of my coils without breakage, and it never reallllly totally works. I get about 90% of em out, or so.....
Hrrrrrmmm.
I might have to swing by the BSS after work.
I'm still scurred of putting a brush to this head though. We shall see - I'll start with one of the knockoffs as I've heard the real thing is crazy expensive....
