Does anyone do mid-week PLAIN water washes? No conditioner or anything?

Okay, I think I may be on to something. :drunk:

I washed and roller set my hair Saturday. Yesterday (Tuesday) I was caught out in a horrible down pour. My hair was 100% soaked, but it was in a bun. I didnt touch it again until this morning (wednesday) and my hair feels beautiful and refreshed. Was this a fluke? Or will plain water washes always yield these results?

I will roller set again this saturday and next tuesday, I will run water through my hair (while still bunned) and allow it to airdry.

Am I setting myself up for a mess next week? :lachen:

sometimes i don't feel like using conditioner... i just wet my hair to reset the coils i smushed in my sleep :look:

I do that sometimes in the summer when it's really hot. I grew up in the Caribean and I remember everytime I get wait in the rain, my hair and skin were always very smooth

I do this sometimes. If my hair feel as though it needs to be rinsed, I will rinse in the shower (no poo or condish), blot dry, and bun. I dont do this often enough to notice any results. I have not had any negative affects from this.

I'm following a routine where I bun up my hair for the whole week and only take it down to wash/DC/ and comb it on Fridays. I spray leave-in conditioner on it every day, though. When I feel as if my hair is getting built up with conditioner, I spray plain distilled water into my hair. It always leaves it refreshed and allows the conditioner to absorb better. Also if my hair feels grimey or dirty before the week's end, I will rinse it with just plain water and Leave-in conditioner and oils to it afterward.

I do when I don't have a lot time in the morning, I'll wet my hair and pull it back in a loose bun and I'm off to work:yep:

I think you get this feeling because fresh rain water is in its purest form... It doesnt have all the minerals that tap water has....

When I wore my hair in twists, I did something similar every morning because I loved how the twists would hang if left to drip dry. The only difference is my "plain water" had ACV in it. My hair would feel oh so soft!

I with ladylibra...I do the same. It works like a charm for me. Water helps to rehydrate and bring curls back to life.

Yes I used to do this at night years ago and put my hair in a bun for the next day. Whenever I took it down, it'd be all curly/crinkly and nice and full.

I do this after workouts to get the sweat out of my hair if I am coming home or going straight into work. Sometimes I do just plain water or I use a dab of conditioner or EVOO, castor oil and water.

This is soooo weird, cause the same thing happend to me yesterday evening! I was getting off work about 5:30 an went to the beauty supply store to get some kemi oyl (do any of u use that?) If was a very very light rain almost misty. I new my hair was going to frizz all up (im in braidout) but when I touched it it was all soft and refreshed, still feeling the benefits today! Its like my hair was hydrated. I usually run from the rain but I noticed my hair loved it.

*nod*

I do this every week to refresh my scalp - I don't touch/change my style during the week, but on Wednesdays I usually let me hair get sopping wet in the shower that morning - it seems to extend the style, and it makes my head feel SOOO good. I figure it also adds a little moisture, and rinses off any dust/dirt lingering.....

I guess great minds think alike, lol. I also did this yesterday. I keep the back of my hair in cornrows since i wear a half wig as a protective style. I wet only the back with plain water. My only mistake is that I did it too late at night and i didn't have enough time for it to fully dry before i went to sleep. Was still damp this morning. Had to blow dry it on a cool setting.

I do water only sometimes. I got it from the other longhair site. I like it because its so refreshing esp in the spring/summer without have to add a ton of extra products to the hair during rinsing and I dont get the stripped feeling. After I water only I add oil/condish to the ends and my corkscrew coils really pop.:yep:

Yes I use it. Loves it! I do water washes when my hair is in a loose bun. It feels real soft afterwards.

I def do this since i run 4x a week and i sweat like a 400lb wilderbeast! But after its wet i run GIOVANNI LEAVE IN CONDISH I never leave my hair "naked" without conditioner after being rinsing. no good:nono:at least not for me....

I don't but when my hair is looking "blah" I wet the ends, apply CHI silk infusion and let it air dry. My hair looks a lot fresher without having to wash it. BTW, I'm relaxed.

I did that once last week it was an accident though, I was about to cowash. I rinse my hair then add conditioner but I forgot I had something to do so I didnt get to rinse it out. (not a prob tho my conditioner is an excellent leave in)

I do this to my son. He has locs. He hates getting his hair washed so I just get it wet in the bath.

I do this every morning if I'm wearing my hair curly, refresh it with product and go.
