I'm in need for a shedding/breaking cure! :cry3::cry3: I'm so ready to give up, but I know I shouldn't. I barely started 2 months ago, w/ this journey!

Bumping for response for you boo! Don't give up, we have all gone through it. I don't have the Garlic Remedy but may one of the girls will help.

Hang in there!

I have been searching all over town for the garlic shampoo that I read about. I hope someone has good home recipe.

As for the breakage, you need a good dose of protein, but not too much. Too much protein can actually lead to breakage (yes, there is such a thing as too much of a good thing). You need to create a balance between protein and moisture to tame the breakage. Now, for shedding, I don't do any homemade garlic recipes or anything like that, but I purchased Nutrine's Garlic Shampoo and Conditioner from beautyofnewyork.com. It was pretty inexpensive and I got it in 2 days. I've heard wonderful things about it and my shedding is started to increase, so I'll be using it. Check your local BSS for Nutrine or Queen Helene. A lot of people have had good success with Queen Helene's Garlic Poo. ~HTH~

A recipe that helped me with shedding was microwaving some olive oil, then placing crushed garlic inside the oil and covering it to steam at least 2 hours or longer. HTH

I actually tried this today because I've been having alot of shedding and breakage and when I go to the salon she usually uses a garlic treatment on my hair and it helps. So I decided to try it myself, I put about 10 cloves of garlic, a little water and some EVOO in the blender and blended the garlic as much as I could, I poured it into a bowl and added a little bit of NTM daily deep conditioner. I used the garlic treatment on wet hair, I left it on for about 20 min with a conditioning cap, my scalp did tingle a little but, I'm not sure why though, rinsed it out, shampooed with NTM, deep conditioned with NTM Daily deep conditioner. The result..NO shedding and my hair feels much stronger, so this is definately a keeper for me.:yep:

Oh and 1 last question. How often do you use this treatment? Is it just everytime your shedding? And can u use this on braids, like before you take them out ?

Today was the first time that I did it on my own but when I was going to the salon I did it like every 2 weeks. I think I'm going to continue to do it every 2 weeks. I'm so happy right now because my hair feels great. Let me know how it works for you.

Congrats! I'm glad it worked out for you!

So, this isn't like a protein treatment, where too much can be damaging.....and it's cheap! YAAYY!
