Hello Ladies,

I know this has been posted before 1000 times but when I attempt to use the search function, I get the blasted *white screen*. Perhaps I need a tutorial on how to use the search function:rolleyes:

I got a full relaxer yesterday - Affirm FiberGuard Sensitive scalp. (I think this is no-lye) I must say I did not sting at all and only had a very small amount of sensitivity on my scalp afterwards.

I have read that my first poo after a no-lye relaxer should be with a Chealating shampoo. Then I should do a protein / reconstructor followed by a moisture condish

My question:
I want to go for a trail run today, if I do I will have to wash my hair which is the day after my relaxer. Is this a no-no? I plan to do a full deep conditioner, etc. I just really need to workout today (I missed workout days leading up to the relaxer) and I don't want to have icky freshly relaxed hair stuck to my head tomorrow.

How do my workout warrior ladies handle this situation?

TIA!

Why not? I don't workout, but shampooing your hair after relaxing it the day before is ok. I usually shampoo my hair 3 days after a relaxer (w/neutralizer), mainly because of paranoia issues.

Well I have a little of the paranoia thing going on as well....she just didn't seem to shampoo enough and she didn't let the neutraizer sit long enough  - I would have let it sit for at least 5 minutes ....I have some ORS shampoo that would serve both purposes I believe...

It definately won't damage ur hair. Go for it.
This is good news. I was careful to clarify, do my protein conditioner and then not workout for 3 days leading up to the relaxer. I read somewhere that your scalp pores stay open for at least 24 hours after a workout and could cause sensitivity to the relaxer. I also read on this wonderful forum that it's not good to go in with dirty hair with product build-up for a relaxer. I used to do that all the time when I was younger . So I errored on the safe side and did my clarifying and held off from working out for 3 days. I think it paid off in that I didn't have any burning problems what so ever.

Thanks for the reply :yep::yep: Immo get my run on...
