Did Surge 14 work for you?

Hey y'all,

I've been fascinated by these folks spending $50 on Surge on Ebay. It never worked for me. Did it work for you? Are you feenin' for it?

I think that the combo of Surge and MTG helped me over the SL hump, but nothing spectacular.

It did not make my hair grow out of my scalp at a faster clip but it did make my hair stronger at the root which led to less shedding overall...so yeah..in that manner it did work for me.

Yes, it worked for me. It filled in my edges and made my nape grow. Plus it made my detangling sessions easier... I miss it!

Yes it did work for me....it was a little drying to my scalp and made my ears peel...but it still made my hair grow. I can't find it anywhere anymore though and I would like another bottle.

Yes it did work in terms of making my hair stronger, helped with detangling, and helped to retain length, however it gave me the worst scalp flakes EVER! I believe that it was somehow burning my scalp, I had to discontinue use.

I couldn't really tell if it did anything for me. I still have half of a bottle left and I may revisit it again after I get over my PJ phase. At the time of using it, I didn't notice any real results. The only thing that bothered me was that it's a liquid so the spray kept my roots really damp and wavy. I don't really care for that and that's why I don't use liquid leave-ins, other than the Aphogee Green Tea & Keratin Restructurizer.

I love it since it improves the overall condition of my hair. I had stopped using for a minute and once I started back, my hair started improving. I don't know why I stopped but I won't again. My hair is smoother, stronger, and healthier.

The first time I bought Surge my hair was braided. But it caused too much flaking so I stopped using it becuase the flakes kept getting stuck at the base of the braids.

I bought 2 more bottles last summer because they were on clearance at Walgreens. I mostly used it as a detangler though so I can't say it helped with growth.

Anyone know why this product was discontinued?

Word on another hair forum (BHM) is that someone bought them out and are supposed to be selling it again. So another company owns it now, although I don't know how true this is, it's still going to be the same formula, just different packaging.

If that's true, I'll probably try it again if the new company doesn't raise the price.

Knowing them, they probably will since it turned out to be the hottest item selling from that line. You know a company will always raise its prices once they see something selling, and this stuff was selling like hotcakes. If they do start selling it again, you can bet that there'll be some price-jacking going on.

I went to a local BSS and bought three bottles, I hope it last me a while. I just started using it and hope to get good results.

Worked for me. Adding castor oil to it stopped the scalp flakes. I wish I had a bottle now but I ain't gonna pay $83 for 3 bottles.

It helped me grow back in my edges after a bad braid experience.

They sell it at a local grocery store here. In fact, they have alot of the other products too. ie Woojee cream.

Nope, Surge burned the hell out of my edges, leaving me with scabs and little brown flakes on my scalp. I was spraying it on everyday and it set my edges on fire. What I finally did was use it sporadically until it was done, and never purchased another bottle...So for me it didn't work out..[/COLOR]

surge really helped turn my weak hair around. especially when i wore weaves...i used it and evoo as my "braid spray" and had no issues when i took my hair out. i believe it helps with growth..i have one bottle left..not sure what i will do after this.

I used it every day for two or three weeks and it burned the wholly crap out of my scalp and edges. I had to apply aloe vera gel and shea butter to heal my scalp for another two weeks. I had about 50% left in the bottle and threw it away. Surge never again.

Yes, it worked for me. I used it directly on my scalp (concentrating on my nape and edges) and on my ends. My problem areas made a complete turn-around and, even though I haven't used Surge in a couple of months (I ran out), my nape and edges are still looking good! My NG was crazy thick at the time and it also detangled like a dream ! Smelled yummy, too .

That's absolutely insane! The final sale for those 3 bottles was $102 and they currently have a bottle with a current bid of $30.
