I think I will stay relaxed until I have kids, esp a daughter, becuz I am not going to let my kids relax their hair until their like 16. I want to show them by example that natural hair can be pretty.

although I will stay relaxed.. I stretch my relaxers out so as to not get relaxers so often. From here on out I won't leave the relaxer in as long.. making me a texlaxer:grin:

I voted I don't know. B/c I don't. I think I will go back eventually but it prolly won't be till I'm in my 40's or 50's.

I am not sure. Right now, stretching is a chore for me so going natural seems like a mission impossible. I don't think I can bare the big chop, my head is entirely to big for it!:nono:

I have always said that I would do a BC and go natural by the time I am 40. Well I am knocking on the door of 40 (in 3 more years) and I don't see myself doing a big chop, but I DO see myself going natural.

I am right now 7 months post and have fully made up my mind to transition. (pleeeeeeez pray for me:ohwell:)

aaaaaw!!!:lachen: Congrats!!! I wish you the best on transitioning. And the plus side is that in 3 years by the time you turn 20 (like how i slipped that in there), you'll have hair around 24 inches since you've already been transitioning for almost a year now!!!

( I would wear that white dress, where was you going the club? You honestly look around 20:yep:)

I voted 'I'm not sure'...I think to each her own, but I love being relaxed...I'm still young so my mind may change at some point in my life, but no time soon, I dont think.

And yeah, if I ever did, I could never do the big chop thing...I will have my raggedy relaxed ends hangin down my back before I ever decide to completely cut 'em off.

EDIT: Come to think of it, I'm almost 100% sure I wont ever transition. My natural hair is too much work when I'm stretching my relaxer so it would be hell if the entire length of my hair were that way. That and I'm 100% sure that if I were natural, I would style my hair straight on an almost daily basis, so having it relaxed is less heat and work anyway.

I didn't vote because I'm transitioning right now :yep: Before I thought that I would continue to relax until I reached my hair goal, wear it for a few years, then BC and get there with natural hair. However, I decided I'd rather go through this journey now and get to my hair goal so I never have to cut my hair again! :lachen:

I don't know, my hair is starting to surprise me. I have never had a defined curl pattern, but now in some parts of my hair I am starting to feel springy coils as new growth, it has me intrigued so I am thinking of stretching longer to get a better glimpse of my hair texture.

This is what I'm doing now! Yes lady, you and me both need some prayers! :yep: transitioning without the BC ain't a pretty thang! :lachen:

I don't know, I know this thread is old, but I've been thinking about it, but everything is going good with my relaxer so far.....so I guess I will have to wait until the future gets here.....

I've transitioned about 3 times and I BC'd this past January. Let's just say I looked a HAM and leave it at that. Even though I would love to be natural, I have no idea what to do with my hair and don't have much confidence in my ability to style my natural hair. I'm currently 16 weeks post and will be sticking with relaxing for the indefinite future.

I am thinking about it. My daughter and my youngest son have natural hair. I love my sons curls. However before I go natural I am serious thinking about texlaxing.

i did and it was great---now im textlaxed--and its great--bone str8 hair does nothing for me its boring so i like alotta body and fullness

i luv big beautiful full hair...so going natural was fun--also i colored my hair all the colors i wanted too and it was great when i was natural--

I don't plan on going natural anytime soon. My hair and I aren't friends when it's in its natural state, so we would fight. Maybe when I'm much much much older, but as of right now, I'm sticking with being relaxed.
